Shanahan was the longest tenured coach in the NFL, right? I remember when he got canned from the Raaaydaaaahs.

I think it was and still is Jeff Fisher. If I remember correctly,he got that title when Cowher retired.

Singletary and Martz philosophies clash....i knew this would happen
Singletary - hard nosed...physical...run the ball
Martz - pass the ball...rack up points inefficiently

and big ups to Matt Ryan....but there were other deserving candidates...Steve Slaton, Matt Forte, and Chris Johnson
but good for Matt Ryan....he earned it

the starters for the super bowl wouldnt play in the pro bowl

ANY super bowl players wont be in the pro bowl....this is a bad idea in my opinion...because isnt there a certain date to where the players have to declare the will be in the pro bowl?
how do guys in the playoffs know whats going to happen?

If the league or networks are that concerned about ratings etc., then cancel the game altogether and just announce a pro bowl team, no game necessary -- then the players get the bonus for playing well during the season and don't have to risk injury for a game that means nothing to the players/league/networks.

i like that idea
but maybe....the day or the week before the super bowl or whenever they want...have a skills competition (whatever happened to the fastest man competition)
have things like fastest man, a kickers' game of horse, the old bench press competition.....things like that

Sorry to disagree, but why risk injury?

Who can throw the ball the length of the field? ... One QB throws their arm out in the competition and their career is over... why risk it?

If the game means nothing, but a risk to end your career, then why have it?

Just my :2 cents:

I am probably one of few but I usually watch cause they are majority of the time good high scoring game

F*ck the NFL and all its overpaid, whining players. Having typed that, I am VERY glad that the Cowgirls and the Denver Queen Bees didn't make the playoffs. Now, as long as the Manning brothers get eliminated before the Super Bowl, I'll be happy. Not that I'll be watching, of course...
