I could also mention that at least three of his first round draft picks were enormous bust, with one, Charles Rodgers being epic to the point where one might have a legitimate claim to call him the second biggest bust in history behind only Ryan Leaf. It's even worse when you consider that the Lions were so bad that they had extremely high first round picks in Millen's entire time with the team. Pretty much nobody could have screwed it up that bad with those kinds of picks, and that's pretty much the only reason they have Calvin Johnson, Williams and Ernie Sims the only people on the team that are worth building a team around. There has been virtually no offensive line development since he has been there. There hasn't been a decent quarterback since he took over, and it's kind of hard to tell if Harrington was just that sucky or if the Lions ruined him. Kitna just isn't going to get it done. He's a backup playing as a starter. The running game has been non-existent because of the previously stated offensive line, backs that haven't been that great, and their inability to stay close in games. Their defense has never been that great. This isn't a team like the Ravens or the Bears where their offenses has often been bad but their defense always gives them at least a chance to win. The entire team is bad. Millen has been responsible (Or at least had a good portion of the responsiblity) for the coaches and all the front office personnel whom he either undercut all the time or he picked people that suck as much as he did. It's obvious the Lions have virtually no quality people at talent evaluation. Even their non-first round picks have been relatively poor since his time as general manager. They have a hard time getting good free agents, and when they do they pay too much for people that aren't worth it. Discipline has been erratic and inconsistent with the players. They brought in people they shouldn’t have, but let people that were good go, Bly and Shawn Rodgers come to mind just this year. To be fair I think all the head coaches the Lions have had haven't been that bad. I think most of the blame falls on Millen and other front office people. If Arizona pulls it out this year and becomes at least a semi-decent team in the near future Detroit is going to pretty much become the crappiest team in the history of the league.
