Can't disagree with anything said so far. But we must also blame the sheep-like, moronic and naive Americans (including the politicians) who chanted "we're better off fightin' 'em over thar than over hyar". I was at a business conference as this bullshit move by W. Bush was getting going. The only people who called "rat" were myself and the Canadians who were there - and it got really tense during a dinner one night. I listened to the supposedly smart Americans there repeat the propaganda lines they'd been taught (like brainless parrots): Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden were in it together on 9/11 - they were pals/buddies.

Let's remember that (depending on which poll you look at) back then over 40% of Americans believed that one or more Iraqis was involved in hijacking at least one of the flights that crashed into the WTC. There were NONE!!! Stupid people should not be allowed to vote, speak... or breathe. This episode began my (even more) intense hatred of neocons, Evangelical wingnuts and Zionists. And political correctness be damned, I will never apologize for my beliefs. These people have done more to damage this republic than Al Qaeda, or any group of terrorists, ever could (IMO).

And let's be perfectly honest here: if Obama had pulled a bullshit move like the invasion of Iraq, getting thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis killed, on top of wasting a trillion dollars or so, the same fucking GOPers (and nutless, cowering, go-along-to-get-along Democrats) who were beating the drums of war then, would still be holding hearings, bringing war crimes charges and/or trying to impeach Obama. Wanna talk about Benghazi? Sure, no problem. But let's talk about Iraq first. Once we get done investigating that and putting Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Condi Rice on trial, then we'll spend a day or two on Benghazi. Fair enough? :yesyes:

Payback coming from Neo-Cons influence for being right that we are going need 400K troops to secure Iraq. That way, W oil grab could of been secured and the troops could came home that same year. Chaos cause the speculated oil prices to rise. Enron was key into getting oil speculation and others like the electrical blackouts in California that cost Gray Gov job into stock speculation. .

Gas prices should be at $2.25 a gallon with the increase demand in China that raised it as their economy started to have a increase in their middle class that lead to car sales.

Rest is speculation including Obama's intervention in Liybia with Putin's Crimea grab on the chaos scare.

Plus they jack up the prices by 25 cents every major holiday.

I'm not disagreeing with your overall thinking and I'll say up front you may very well be 100% correct. If you roll back the calendar and Obama was in office (or Gore) and they decided to do the same things it may very well have gone the same way. Perhaps not, but the attitude in the country, the grief, the outrage, and the fear allowed for this. It wasn't hysteria and I remember exactly where I was and how pissed off I was in 2003 when we watched the tanks roll into Iraq on CNN. People weren't really believing the WMD story, but they wanted to believe it. Then there are the willfully ignorant who, as stated before, believed Iraqis had something to do with those buildings coming down. I have no use for the willfully ignorant.

I'm not sure if I want to spend even a day or two on Benghazi after the Bush/Cheney crowd are investigated. The more I think of it though, I'd rather not have her in office. Smart, experienced, ruthless. My advice that nobody asked for, let her be history.
