See when Saddam took over Iraq in the early 70's the Shite, Sunni, and Kurds were always going at it. Just like the hate between Russia and Ukraine residents. The killings that he did was for control and stability. We made things worst and turn back the clock with the 2003 invasion and reset the old fighting between the three groups.
ISIS is not Al-Queda. Matter of fact Al-Queda was never in Iraq until we invaded the country. They came over the borders that weren't protected with the low number of troops we sent over there and Bremer de-Bathacation when the Iraqi army wanted to help to secure the country. .
ISIS is the Sunni group (many from the ex Iraqi Army that are pissed losing their jobs) attacking Kurds again and to be honest they don't want us there or our influence.
But they have something we want. Oil.
