Well, I do think the government could do a lot more to make healthy food options to available to everyone, not just the rich. The really sad fact is, unhealthy food is more available and affordable than the healthy stuff and people aren't educated on how to eat healthy on a budget. For example...spaghetti is pretty cheap. A better option would be wholewheat spaghetti but that can cost 50-75+ cents more than the white pasta. In the long run, buying the more expensive option could be cheaper because it'll make you fuller faster and longer, but if people don't know this (or flat out can't afford it) then they're not going for that particular option.
Also, I think the government could do more to make exercise options available to people. Fuck, a membership at the Y which is supposed to be a cheap option can be just as much as a gym membership these days. And while no, a gym isn't necessary to exercise...some people don't live in areas where you can just go out and walk around the block. They need a safe place to do it otherwise they could get shot.
