As recently as 18 months ago a poll found that 43% of Republicans believed Obama was a muslim
Last summer a CBS poll found that 72% of registered Republican voters still had doubts about Obama's citizenship.

Maybe I missed something in the article - I'm trying to do three things at once - but it sounds to me like she was just basically recounting her concerns and the advice she gave her ex colleagues after leaving that position.
