The Wrestler (spolier alert) question

It's left open so that you could make your own conclusion about what really happened.

You would think, given all the warnings he recieved throughout the film about his health and what would happen if he wrestled again that it would be the logical conclusion.

Coming this fall - The Wrestler 2: EXTREME Coma Wrestling!!! :D

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
Yes, I believe it is a given that he died. What did he have to live for though? It was probably better that way.

In my opinion, yes. It just fits with the downward spiral his life was taking....that he deliberately chose to take. He died doing what he loved and the only thing he really knew....it was who he was. Yeah....Randy "The Ram" Robinson died in the ring after one last "Ram-Jam". Great flick....fantastic performance by Rourke.

Yeah I think youre right blueballs shifty jag andron........
he was feeling the heart going so he climbed that rope one more time.

taking that match with the ayatollah was basically suicide, or at leat russian roulette with his life.
I think his daughters final rejection just killed him inside.
Loneliness is a killer.
Sad thing though is that marissa tomie did care and it seemed she finally was willing to give it a try with him.
They were almost in the same point in life, same situation.
I think they would have been good together and he would have a second chance at being a good dad.
Maybe thats what did happen.

I liked the movie alot especially having grown up watching wrestling in the 70's and 80's plus it took place exactly where I grew up in NJ.
Hek I even worked that same crappy job he had for a while with a number of low life bosses treating me the same as they did him.

Good movie it was.

I think he did die in the ring. It was such sad fucking story. This poor pathetic sadsack gave up on everything, I mean she fucking came for him and he turned his back on her. He fucked it all up because he was holding on too tight to what he used to be instead of getting on with his life.
It was a terriffic movie with Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei giving great and tough preformances but I won't ever see it again.

Really good, gritty movie... not the sappy happy ending that Hollywood usually spews out these days.

Shifty

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
If you liked this movie, you may also like Leaving Las Vegas with Nicolas Cage and Elisabeth Shue - a great movie. There are many parallels imo. :)

Banned?
Maybe not dead, but definately hurt. I loved the ending, a true "fuck all them bitches" moment. What a hero.

The Joker

Spam me with porn mail, I like it!
I think it's pretty much a given he died.

Obviously he knew of the risk he was taking when he entered the ring that night, and upon having another heart attack during the match, despite given the opportunity to finish the match early, he chose to go on. Randy wasn't the kind of guy who could work a eight to five on a regular basis. We pretty much got a good idea of that. Randy was very much a wrestler, and ultimately he chose to go out doing what he loved.
