Think twice about taking a school laptop

A school in Pennsylvania has really crossed another line to Big Brother state. Monitoring kids at home via their school laptops, both via the computers built-in webcam, and a software that lets them see what is happening on the monitor.



Just imagine what this does to those young people. Will they ever trust a teacher again? I for one wouldn't.

Oh, a nice touch: The school is in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Guess they have a new concept of freedom now around the city,

Back in my high school they gave all the students laptops. They had rules for using them and all that. However if caught doing something there is software that can show everything from images to other files that have been on the laptop and that is what they use if they feel they need to. There were no webcams on them nor do I see the need for it if it is for school.

I honestly see no point. They are more problematic than resourceful. That school I was at everyone was emailing, internet surfing, or playing games in class. I'd like to know how kids got through school without technology.

I'm okay with tracking the sites visited on the laptop. After all, the school is providing the laptop to the student. They have a right to make sure it's not being abused. If you don't like it, don't use the laptop.

The web cam is a bit much though. I'm not going to try and justify that.

Well I would hope that these laptops provided by the school will have a tracking device incase its stolen and have software to block certain sites being able to be looked at.

The webcam is something that can't be justified on any level, I know most laptops today have webcams but really it should of been disabled so it can't be used by the student, a school laptop should just be used for school work so anything software that isn't school related should of been disabled.

Makes you think how many pedos oh I mean shool teachers are getting off watching their students as they work on their reports on their school provided laptops! Sick fucks!!!

Really, back in high school we struggled to even get calculators. I'm probably not that much older than you either. Even then we weren't given them, and we weren't allowed to take them out of class.

I think if I knew about the web cam monitoring, and there was a hot teacher at the school...I would have to make a sign that said, "thinking of you Miss/Mrs.________, and then proceed to rub one out, and drop a load all over a picture of her face. Until that time, and after it, they would be looking at a picture of the biggest, nastiest dump, I could manage to drop.
