Think twice about taking a school laptop

I think if I knew about the web cam monitoring, and there was a hot teacher at the school...I would have to make a sign that said, "thinking of you Miss/Mrs.________, and then proceed to rub one out, and drop a load all over a picture of her face. Until that time, and after it, they would be looking at a picture of the biggest, nastiest dump, I could manage to drop.

As a former ISP customer service agent, I can say:

Well, we had people write us who begged if we could somehow erase videos and/or pictures of them in situations like the one you described (and far worse ^^ ) ... but in most cases, we could not, as data liek that spreads like swine flu around the web, and if you want to get any significant job, forget it.

The web never forgets. And teachers post shit about others, too.

Things like this are why I always thought it was weird to take a laptop from school.

You can get a decent laptop for $400-500 these days. Considering most students take out loans for tens of thousands of dollars, what's another $500? Put down the beer and buy a lappy.

This. :elaugh: Shit you do when you are a minor - for the most part - can not be held against you when you turn 18.

But you just KNOW that all those little pervs are (or were) all over the porn. We were looking at it when the comps were just starting to become popular in public schools.

Lap tops for the students. We fought over the use of the almost 7 year old computers in the library as we only had 6 in grade school. High school wasn't much better than that.

Watching a student on a web cam is just plan wrong. Now knowing what web pages they go to I can understand as they are suppose to be working on school and they are the schools property.

Great question. I don't know the correct answer, but especially since the students weren't notified that they were being remotely observed by webcam, it does seem that would open up a can of worms. I know in a "sexting" case at a local high school, some kids got into trouble for having beaver shots of an underage girl on their cellphones... and she was the one who sent the pics!

Also, I'm willing to bet that all the cheerleaders were given the newest, best laptops (with the best webcams) while the husky gals on the golf team got the old models with busted webcams. Any takers on that bet?
