So to the guys who are married or in a serious relationship, I have a question.
How is your family with your Wife or Significant other? I mean do they like her, do they love her? Do they hate her but act like they like her to her face? Or are they just plain ol rotten to her?

My family loves my current girlfriend. She's a teacher like me, has a good head on her shoulders, has a great sense of humor, and looks damn sexy.

But that wasn't always the case. The one I dated before her was sort of a "bad girl" which was completely not what they expected from me. I knew it was never going to pan out into anything long term like marriage, but we had a good time messing around together. My family took every opportunity to tell me me that they didn't particularly like her. Of course they did this whenever she wasn't around. That irritated me because of the front they put up when they had to be around her. And I gotta tell you, the pressure they put on me definitely strained our relationship. When you're close to your family, you want them to like your significant other. And when they don't, it's like you're picking sides. Eventually, I broke it off, and they were sympathetic but probably secretly happy.

Well I ask because my husbands family like HATES me, I don't know why when I make him happy and all I do is try to make THEM happy, but I guess you win some you lose some. None of that really seems important right now to me.

that's all that matters. Off course it is better when "they" actually like you, for me actually I don't care if they liked her or not. Never the less I am happy that they do, takes a lot of less nagging when I have to go to the family alone.
All a guy's mom want is that his wife is a good mom, who cleans and cooks (like her), and a guy want just one thing ( beautiful and hot woman) ... It takes time to find the balance ...
Just be yourself, even if you do all you can for them, if they don't like, they 'll never change their minds about you ... Just be there for your guy, that's all he wants and all he needs ...

Not married anymore (haven't been for several years) but my folks/family have always treated the women in my life that they've met with respect and have never indicated disapproval at all. I date different races of women and the only thing my mother has ever stated with respect to any relationship I've been in is, "treat her like you expect to be treated".

I think a lot of it has to do with a) It's mostly his mom that doesn't like me
b) I think the dad secretly does but doesn't want to hear it from the mom so he doesn't openly admit it. c)He is her oldest son and she couldn't make it to our wedding because it was on 3 days notice and we were 10 states away. d) She had him at 16 and got pregnant on purpose, "so she wouldn't ever have to be alone" so I'm pretty sure she's just really fucked up in the head.

I've NEVER had a problem with my ex's families, They all loved me.

Idk wtf his families issue is but their just going to have to get over it because there comes a time when a little boy leaves his mommy for his wife and becomes a man.

Well, if she talks to you, or treats you like shit, that's HIS responsibility to tell her, to shut the fuck up, and get with the program, because it is what it is. If she hates you, but acts nice, and just takes little jabs here an there, then your only recourse is to be so nice to her, her head explodes and she snaps a gasket. I mean the sickeningly sweet, obviously obnoxious, and condescending nice...the kind of nice that screams, "your a cunt, I know your a cunt, and I'm going to treat you like a cunt, by acting like a bigger cunt then you...but in such a way that makes you wish you hadn't of brought out the cunt in me".
