After months of inaction from the Obama administration in working to free the Marine who’s been in a Mexican prison, House Republicans are finally taking a stand to try to get him back.

According to Fox News, Montel Williams and Rep. Matt Salmon (R-Ariz.) appeared “On The Record” to announce that a House subcommittee will be holding a hearing on Oct.1 regarding the jailed Marine.

Sgt. Tahmooressi was arrested March 31 after he accidently crossed the Mexican border with firearms in his vehicle. Since then, he has been stuck in a Mexican prison and reported to be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

I'd gladly trade five members of the Obama administration for this guy.

It was night, the sign saying "this way to U.S." was lying on the ground. Stuff happens.

I accidentally crossed into Canada at a border checkpoint under similar circumstances. I was interrogated for 20 seconds by their border officials and subjected to severe politeness but thankfully I was eventually allowed to make my way back home.
