I probably should not have needed a reminder that today is MLK day

Its a holiday, went to the post office to mail some DVD orders off and it was closed, dang. but you know holidays dont mean shit to a ***** that dont work a dayjob. I just read the yahoo news headlines and the cracker comments on MLK day are cracking me up:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MLK quote. "I did it for the white wimminz and the sweet, sweet chikins.

Yo Tomeka go see if the welfare check be here yet @#$%. And tell you sista Toshiba I be needn some mo chicken

the ONLY original thought MLK ever had was, do i go to KFC or popeyes for lunch ??

happy james earl ray day everyone

MLK did a few good things but was not a great man. He preached don't do this or that on sunday-than he was a drunk , slept with protitutes and a communist. ALL PROVEN. In fact, the blackman had the audio tapes of him in a drunken binge with a hooker yelling "I am God tonight" sealed untril 2026.
How many Black hmmm i mean "african americans" are actually reading this post? 12 the rest are still sleeping because the Mail does not run today so they do not have to get up and get there welfare checks...

Or Civil Rights Day. That is what I remember it used to be called.

Yes, and as much as I enjoy the day off, why not spend the day learning about what MLK and others did for the Civil Rights movement? I teach at a school with a high number of African American students. Unfortunately, most of them know his name but don't know anything about the non violent protests, the rallies, the boycotts, the sit-ins, or the March on Washington. They just don't understand how far we've come as a nation because they don't know the history.

It's disheartening to see what is taken for granted these days. Fuck it, I sound old. :(

That is sad. I'm sure he'd be turning over in his grave if he knew the sacrifices he made were being ignored/forgotten for the most part.

You are old.

And you're a delusional human who thought he was a wolf, but now seems to think he's a polar bear. I'd rather be old, than crazy.

Why would tea party folks eat fried chicken and watermelon?

Hiliary 2020
There are 2 ways to look at it.
#1 In the 60's he helped blacks, mostly in some southern states end segregation in schools and other things.
Its a Happy thing.

#2 40 some years blacks have equal rights but many of them, too many, don't do shit with it.
they don't take advantage of the opportunities they have that people got shot with fire hoses to get for them.
teenage pregnancy, drop out rate, crime rate, ect is always on the rise, worse than ever.
So its a sad thing, and if MK is somewhere watching right now, he ain't happy.

wow, just watched whimsy's vid......damn.

BTW ,Bill Cosby is my hero

I bet the tea baggers are eating fried chicken and watermelon in honor of MLK day.

Everyone in the South eats that... especially during the Summer. Was that a thinly veiled attempt at some kind of racist comment? If so, it fell short....

MLK, a true leader of his time and an example to many :)

Ditto. It's a shame so many people give him lip service but either do not understand and/or live by what he preached.

Why do people get their panties in a bunch when mentioning that black people go crazy for watermelon and fried chicken? It's just food. Really delicious food. I'm White and I like it too.

whenever i film southern white girls the first thing they go for in the fridge is the WATERMELON. the more redneck they are, the more watermelon they devour.
