Supposedly.. and I've never gotten this waste of space to actually *fucking work*..

You can set up your computer as a streaming media outlet for your gaming consoles. Even if the console doesnt support.. I dunno, quicktime movies or shockwave flash files.. TVersity can 'transcode' them so that itll play.

Except.. I've never gotten anything to work in it. You already have to jump thru fuckin' hoops with port forwarding, codec installation and then making sure the PS3/360 *ACTUALLY* sees the media server.

But, eh.. I want to hear your thoughts on the thing. Some people are kissed by G_d or something and they just turn it on, press play and no problems.

I'm not one of those people.

I know orb works pretty well, most people recommend using that for a ps3

I'll try that. I'm having a hell of a time converting every last anime I have since PS3.. well shit, ANYTHING out there that isnt a PC pukes at the sight of a matroska file.

Matroska is like a giant slap in the face. The PS3 can read the high def h264 video.. can read the MP3 audio.. but put it in a matroska container? FFFFFFFRRRRRTTTTT. NO GOOD!

I had orb for a while and all my pics and music, form limewire and itunes and videos from limewire and itunes and my windows media player all went to my ps3 under the media part. i had quite a bit of prison break from itunes and was very happy to see it on my ps3 after i installed it, and it was by accident too. I had no intention of getting orb for that purpose on my ps3 but it worked very nicely, my main intent was to use it for my phone to watch tv on it haha

Orb had the least hiccups of all. Pictures, audio and internet TV are working flawlessly with zero disconnects/DLNA errors.

Transcoding some of the files is time-intensive, but it works without a hitch.
