Okay I know some of you american fans dont really follow Pride and honestly Dana White did a great job hiding him as much as possible (he was an assistant coach for team nog on TUF previous season, but you saw him all but twice in the background), so here is a brief history lesson/fact sheet on Lyoto "Ryoto" "The Dragon" Machida:
-Machida's dad is Mr.Miyagi IRL, he is short, crazy, and has been training Lyoto to be a fighter since the age of 3 by hiding behind bushes and attacking him randomly. He is half brazillian half japanese (kind a like tiger woods, best of both bloods), and is cornered by his family; brother and father. Basically Machida is Karate Kid in real life.
-Unlike most fighters who have a base in either Boxing/Kickboxing/Mui Thai and BJJ/Wrestling, Machida's base is in SHOTOKAN KARATE AND SUMO WRESTLING WTF.
-Machida has never lost a round, much less a fight in his career. He avoids almost all damage and decisions people, but lately he's started knocking people out which is scary to think about. Up until recently though that was his biggest criticism, that he just ran away from fighting and jabbed his way into a win Sylvia style, in fact he was up for a LH title shot a YEAR AGO BUT DANA WHITE REFUSED TO GIVE HIM ONE BECAUSE HE WAS TOO BORING TO WATCH.
-Machida drinks his own urine
-His training partner is Anderson Silva who claims that Machida VS Silva will NEVER HAPPEN because they are BFFs but everyone knows the real reason is because SILVA IS SCARED OF MACHIDA, YES HE IS THAT GOOD.
-He is never going to retire because he never takes any damage and he is going to hold that belt forever, no one will beat him ever again, it will be Anderson Silva x1000000.
