Underrated (but not)

I watched Good Will Hunting today and forgot how good the movie actually is. Ever since its release, I haven't heard anything about it. Granted, the dialogue is horrible and very "forced" but I think it still works and I got to think this is a movie I would qualify that is underrated (due to falling by the wayside and no one seems to remember) but at the same time got a lot of recognition (it was nominated for best picture at the oscars). Any others you can think of?

Yeah, but at the time of its release it was overshadowed by Titanic which got every kind of recognition imaginable

I think it's a great film. Sure, it has an awful case of Affleck-itis, and the Bahstahn blue collar bad boys thing is laid on a bit thick, but I thought it was very well done. In fact, i only watched it again a few weeks ago.

It certainly kicks the shit out of that steamer Titanic. In my opinion.

You sir, are a scholar and a gentleman... I think the main reason I still love that movie is I walked out of the cinema listening to The Prodigy.

Mine is Kung Fu Hustle.... I laughed(alot), I cried(a little)... I bought the blu ray...

Have you seen The Killer Inside Me? (no, it's not a porn, no matter how much the title would have you believe and nor is it a pro-abortion film) but he does a fantastic job in it

I Heart Huckabees. Very funny movie and great acting. You'd think with an all star cast like that (Mark Wahlberg, Jason Schwartzman, Jude Law, Dustin Hoffman, Lily Tomlin, Naomi Watts) more people would have heard of it. I guess people are turned off by the philosophical content. :dunno:

I would say it's overrated as it got a lot of media publicity and still gets mentioned in association with Matt Damon. I also think although good both Inception and Hurt Locker were well overrated and were not the 'perfect' movies they were made out to be
