I personally broke this habit when I was younger. I was always told to never to do this, but it makes more sense to urinate in the shower.

It's no big whoop. Unless you're sick or something, urine is generally sterile, and even if it's not, who cares, it's going down the drain with at least as much water as several flushes, assuming you take a shower of at least 3-4 mins.
