Wake up, birthers, there's a foreigner running for President of the United States.

Now you see, that was one hell of an informative post Johan. I learned something about the political process in France that I did not know until today. Thank you. If only you could explain the reason why Trust aren't considered one of the greatest rock bands of all time we could begin to bridge this great ideology and cultural divide.

Cruz's situation is similar to Obama's if my understanding is correct. Both had American parents at birth, therefore they are both American. Where they were born is totally irrelevant.
Exactly.
What's a birther? (in other words, why are they relevant or even a topic of discussion?)

Assuming that this is a legitimate question, Birthers are those assclowns who continuely try to prove that Obama's birth certificate is a fake and that he is illegally the President of the United States. Despite the fact that the President has proved that he was born in the US to the people that actually needed to know, despite the fact that even if Obama had been born in Kenya, Indonesia, China, Australia or the fucking Moon; his mother was an American citizen at the time of his birth and he lived in the country for at least 14 years!

I'm no fan of the president's policies (except drones strikes, but that's a different topic) but harping on his place of birth only played into his hands.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of a few of Obama policies either. I'm like, judge him on his policies, on his actions but leave the whole birth certificate thing alone. He's met the requirements, he's the President, deal with it.

Same thing with Ted Cruz. I smacked my head when he said that he was renouncing his Canadian citizenship. Why? You're an American by birth, you've been here since you were 4 and you're over 35. Don't play to the idiots. Do what I do and laugh at them.

Well, Ted's problem is that "the idiots" are his base. He's a Tea Party Darling.

Will strip for money!
I thought the birther thing was a great way to make fun of Donald Trump.

Hold on, Canada isn't part of the US?

Tell the same thing to Georges too then. Both are from France

I am not an Obama muppet and I have been several times in the US and I have relatives there something Johan hasn't. And BTW you are coming from the state where Obummer was the senator so your conclusions or what you imply is false and out of the reality as usual. Johan is a clearly established socialist supporter something I am not and will never be.

Not going to lie, I can't name the PM of France. I know the president is Hollande though. But isn't the president more powerful than the PM?

Hollande is a douche and so is Mr Ayrault his prime minister

Exactly. He bashes only when "ghetto trash" is involved (wich means black and latinos when he refers to the US and" black and arabs" when he refers to France).
Ok let's face facts. Who killed the Australian baseball player? And in France who stabbed and killed a young man because of his cell phone in Marseille? Who again killed someone and stabbed a nurse some days ago in Marseille? Again who stabbed a member of the state security police force near Marseille? We all know who the murderers and the perpetrators of these crimes are, so there is nothing wrong by designating them and saying who they are.

Wasn't De Gaulle both PM and President?
although not at the same time. :)

That could be but we can't use search for our answers so I don't know. Your turn to pick a name.

This is going to be a bit difficult going by memory of those names that I recall during my lifetime. I will say Georges Pompideau

I didn't search ...

French statesman, bank director, and teacher who was premier of the Fifth French Republic from 1962 to 1968 and president from 1969 until his death.

Google did all the work

Probably the most well known Frenchman in the USA ...

Pepe Le Pew

1) I've been in the US a few times. I've spent a few monthes there, A friend of mine moved to Boston about 10 years ago.
2) I am not socialist. I'm centrist. in 2007, I've voted for Bayrou on every election since 2002. I even voted for Sarkozy on, round 2 ofg the 2007 election.

You, on the contrary, I would say you're a strong supporter of the Front National and I'm pretty sure you voted for Jean-Marie Lepen on the second round of the 2002 election. And for Marine Le Pen on the last election... That is no better than voting for Mélenchon annd his communists fellows

Melenchon is a douchebag anyways and he himself found that he was screwed or fucked by Hollande the flabby testicle. You seem to forget who Bayrou asked to vote for during the second round in 2012, he asked to vote for the socialists. In 2007, I voted Sarkozy on 1st and 2nd round same in 2012. I voted for Chirac on the second round of the 2002 election.

Funny really little was brought up about McCain, who I do respect in many ways. He was born in Panama! My thoughts if one or both of your parents are U.S. Citizens and you are born on foriegn soil your are still American in my book..
