- WA is known as the Evergreen State.
- Our state song is Washington, my home
- The state bird is the American Goldfinch (used to be the yellow goldfinch when I was growing up...probably became more PC or something)
- Our state fruit is the apple.
- State veggie is the Walla Walla Sweet Onion (makes EXCELLENT blooming onions)
- State dance is the square dance
- State fish is the steelhead trout
- State tree is the Hemlock
- State flower is the Rhododendron
- State insect is the dragonfly
- State gem is petrified wood
- state weed is the tumbleweed (well, if you grew up in the south east..)

I'm sure I can come up with more useless facts...like out in the south east we have a highly haunted area called the baby graves, the columbia river is the main river, etc..

God, can't believe I recalled that shit from WA State History class.

It's called full faith and credit. You can get married in a state that allows it, and it has to be legally recognized in one that doesn't.
