What makes 20 pounds of weed more
dangerous than 2 ounces?
How is that an issue? That's not even why I used the example of 20 lbs of weed. It was to make a point that if somebody was arrested for having 20 lbs of weed, as opposed to 2 oz of weed, hardly anybody would feel as though the person was getting arrested for no reason.
It's not the war on drugs that people are mad at, it's the fact that you can get punished for having a
small amount of drugs.
The only dangerous thing about the 20 pounds of weed is the fact that it is prohibited. Some people would kill a person to steal 20 pounds of weed. The very laws prohibiting the sale/use of weed MAKE the drug dangerous.
The laws don't make anything more or less dangerous. People just use that as an excuse when they are trying to defend illegal actions.
It's illegal to jaywalk, but it's not the law that makes jaywalking dangerous.
FACT: Driving a car is more dangerous than smoking joint. Eating a Big Mac is worse for you than ingesting marijuana.
FACT: Possessing marijuana is illegal.
You can get alcohol poisioning and overdose on acetaminophen. So what it was against the law to take a Tylenol for your headache or have a beer to relax after work?
You can also die from hypothermia, so why is it legal for people to go outside during the winter?
You could make that claim/argument about thousands of things that are involved in a person's normal, everyday activities. Marijuana is an illegal drug and isn't allowed to be bought, sold, used or possessed. If you do something that is against the law, you are going to get punished for it, whether you agree with the law or not.
Let me ask you a question Chef.
Have you ever broken the law in your life?
I've been arrested for DUI, public intox and for forging court documents. I have also been given a few traffic tickets (speeding, running a red light, etc). I was punished for each offense and I
deserved to be punished. I've also smoked weed on many, many, many occasions. Have I ever been in trouble for a drug-related offense? No. Why? Because, I wasn't stupid enough to get caught.
