Here is a list of things that We the People can no longer afford from our Government:

1. Politicians who sign bills they haven’t read, and do not understand
2. Bankrupting the future to pay for lunatic schemes
3. Abuse of the public trust
4. Neurotic spending obsessions
5. Political interference in the economy
6. Silence in the face of tyranny
7. Corruption of our electoral system
8. Playing politics with national defense
9. Insanely expensive government

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
America has the greatest system of Government in the world, and what do we do? We elect politicians, and ruin it.

How about health care for illegal aliens? Free food? Welfare? Medical cards,Hud assistance, heat assistance free education, free lunches, the list goes on forever.
How about if you don't get off your ass and get a job, you die!
I'll bet not to many people would remain on welfare.

Well said...

I can't remember who said it at the moment, I think it was Franklin, but he said the American government will fail as soon as politicians figure out they can bribe the people with their own money. (paraphrased from memory there...)

So true.

All I want the government to do is keep me safe from physical harm, pave the roads, and stay out of my fucking business. Apparently, that's too much to ask...

Actually it is looking like it's going to be the Republican platform for 2010.

republican, democrat, independents, etc...fuck em all!

Silence in the face of tyranny

I suppose this relates to the tyrannical government of the United Emirates of America and not to injustices in places like Zimbabwe, Belarus or other nations most Americans have never heard of.

Silence in the face of tyranny

I suppose this relates to the tyrannical government of the United Emirates of America and not to injustices in places like Zimbabwe, Belarus or other nations most Americans have never heard of.

It relates to this
"We are the defenders of freedom, not mute spectators to oppression. The peaceful future of the world hinges on the universal acceptance of every person’s right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Those words were not written for Americans to recite to each other. Our duty is to shout them into the darkness of communism, theocracy, and the other vicious systems men have designed to enslave each other. Our fathers defeated evil on a global scale, and we inherited a responsibility to call evil by its right name, wherever we see it. Republicans should pledge that no one struggling to raise their neck from beneath a tyrant’s boot will need to strain their ears to hear the voice of America".

Re: What America Can No Longer Afford -

A greater proportion of children born out of wedlock. I'm not suggesting that kids can't grow up to be productive and happy individuals in a single parent household, it just seems like those kids / young adults are the exception these days. Some, if not most children need 2 loving parents in the home while growing up just as some, if not most parents need a loving spouse in the household while raising children.

Children who grow up less a parent are "more likely" to grow up unprepared for a big world and are "more likely" to be influenced by all of the wrong elements of society, government being one of those bad influences. Stats also show us that individuals who grow up less a parent (typically less a father of course) are "more likely" to be just like their fathers when they come of age, absentee biological fathers.
It's a very sensitive topic, I understand, it's just time to move in the opposite direction and stop rolling our eyes when we speak about the importance of the family unit.

That's no way to win over a constituency ! :nono: :hammer: :1orglaugh

The voters just seem to want more free stuff these days and the politicians are more than eager to give it out, even if it means a sell out to China or a loss of 3 million additional jobs inside America's borders.

Good stuff Jason :hatsoff:

Also - All State legislatures have to back to part time once again, not $100,000 + salaried positions.

We need to close up shop on unelected bureaucracies, the "california air resources board" just to name one ... godam parasites !

You forgot some

10. Politicians that put the welfare of business, the elite, and the rich above the masses of the poorer people instead of the other way around.
11. Using national security or protecting the country as a blank check to violate any liberty or human right they feel is inconvenient to follow at the time. Also using that excuse to become almost as bad as our enemies.
12. Endorsement of economic principles that are Darwinistic and relies on cheap labor or the misery of people, virtual slavery or people that are under de facto duress either here or in other parts of the world. People that think economic enrichment should come above human dignity. People that think economic enrichment for a portion of the population at the expense of another part is alright.
13. Kowtowing, conspiring, collaborating, trading, or just turning a blind eye to tyrants, dictators, or totalitarian regimes because it's advantageous to us either politically or economically instead of doing everything practical and reasonable to resist them and help those they oppress. This goes for places like China and Saudi Arabia especially.
14. People that are selfish, have a me first, I got mine attitude and want their own interest dealt with over the wellbeing of society as a whole. (Yes, the people are just as much of a problem as the politicians.)
15. Letting industry and government continue to harm the very ecosystem that lets us have our very life on this planet to the point that even our children or grandchildren might be alive to see the point it starts to break all because they can only think of petty economic concerns of the present.
16. Politicians letting religious beliefs influence the laws they make to the point where they force other people to follow them even if what those people do don't effect anybody else but themselves.
17. People that don't think the country should take care of each and every one of it's citizens to the absolute best of it's abilities unless somebody does nothing to help themselves in a significant way.

hence why its the GOP platform and not the Democrat's.

Got an idea. Jason, run for president in 2012 or whenever your over 35. I'll vote for ya. Just promise to legalize weed and your guaranteed to win! The popular votes would be a landslide victory for ya. Plus your obviously interested in politics. Also the military background would be useful. Haven't had a president with military history since regan. The last decent president, go figure.

What's new about this?? Out of power GOPers (aka party of no) have a list of shit to run against.:dunno: Whoop-dee-doo....

What are these words under my name?
Nothing is going to change unless there is a complete transition in the house of representatives. That means next year ALL incumbents must go, regardless of party affiliation. If you want changes and your party holds the seat for your district, then make sure your party runs a new candidate.

Congress will pay attention if we start over and with the incoming congress on notice that they will be gone if they jack around.

dunno what you mean by non-progressive. All I know is he didn't fuck up to bad. He was completely against pot, but I was to young to care. And obama laughed off the #1 question on his little web Q&A session he did early in his presidency. He was our best bet so far!

dammit, we've been saving too.

what did you think the "stimulus" package was?

rubbin my nuts? :dunno:
