This reminds me of the line from the movie " A few good men".The Nicholson line where he says "you can't handle the truth".Thats a good way to describe the american people, they stick their heads in the sand and think they can just have it all.
Spend ridiculous amounts on health care for people at the very end of their lives, depriving younger people of resources and making the economic burden tremendous and unsustainable but lets just ignore that.
Just like energy, they want cheap energy but don't build a nuke plant anywhere near them or a wind farm etc (too ugly).More of just living in a made up dream world of energy is just going to come out of thin air.
Reich is dead on but I don't see any of what he says being proposed in the current health care bills. As Paul Tsongas said when running for president, the american people want Santa Claus, give us a lot but don't bother us about the costs.
Reich can afford to be honest,he doesn't care about polls or elections,Obama has to care about such.
Someday soon all of what Reich says will come to pass,it's just obvious we will have to wait till it's a crisis before we "can handle the truth" and make some choices and not beleive in santa any longer.
