As far as TV shows, the new series on AMC, called Halt and Catch Fire, seems to be very good. The premiere had a distinct Breaking Bad feel to it and I like that. I'm hoping this show makes up for the loss of Breaking Bad and the total suck that Mad Men has become. The initial ratings were kind of low. I just hope they give it a chance and don't cancel it, like they did the other well written series they had on a couple of years ago: Rubicon.

I'm now sorry that I wasted time on the first two episodes of Halt and Catch Fire. By the third episode it became a total piece of directionless, convoluted, "check the appropriate PC boxes" Hollyweird shit.

But that's OK. That's just another reason for me not to want to keep AMC around once I throw DirecTV out of my living room in a few months. I'll miss The Walking Dead, but I guess I can find it elsewhere at a later date.
