These are just a few of the concessions the UAW has made.
I have spoken before about my involvement in the labor movement, and as a UAW member I think it is outrageous that again the blame is trying to be placed on the workers or the so called "mobsters" that represent them, you need to remember that while negotiations can be contentious these workers want GM to succeed. As it was stated before mismanagment was a major contributor to the downfall we are seeing. Ron Gettelfinger works tirelessly to help these companies to make it through these times.
And just to fend off an any accusations about Union fat cats(because I have heard these kind of arguments before) just remember Ron himself along with the rest of the great UAW leadership all came out of manufacturing plants, Ron worked for Ford.
I feel blessed and proud to have him as my President.
When did it become a bad thing to have people stand up for the workers who individually might not be strong enough to it themselves.

My union dues or taxes as you call them are well worth it, if it wasn't for them my pay rate would not be where it is, my benefits package would be substantially less. Or maybe without the union my company would be nice guys and pay me the same, cuz businesses are notorious for caring about the people.

You are no less guilty of that yourself, calling everybody who's supporting Obama during this current economic crisis a Obama zombie and other nasty names. You guys do nothing but predicting doom and gloom with everything that he did, yet do you not stop and think about the fact that he only took the Oval Office for little more than 2 months? How about giving him benefit of the doubt and see if all the stuff he's doing will pan out? But I guess that's too much to ask for from an Obama hater like yourself.

In 2 months the government has taken control of how many banks? Taken over GM and Chrysler and exactly what did they do with AIG, again?

Because, like his executive orders, his policies are unprecedentedly numerous and they appear to have deep roots, hence, they won't easily be repealed.
It's plain to see that this president is no friend of the legislative process.
Obama, IMO is a dangerous man because he's been coddled and told how great he is all of his life. Has the man ever once been denied or critiqued ? Do we have any idea how the man is going to react under pressure or adversity ?
Will he take his frustrations out on the American people and you're just going to call it good ? :yesyes:

That's the only way GM can and should pay its worker $15.00 an hour. The new contract stated new hired are pay $15.00
Second, GM has to close the Saturn plant in Tennessee, sell off the Saab and one or two more divisions and start making electric car.
The message is those jobs that are gone to China, Mexico, South America. Brazil, India are not going to come back. America has to come to make hard choices to make new technological advanced products. Green cars and better cars, and more.
