When it comes to timeshares, getting involved in the selling of them isn't a bad business move. I know a guy that has $80/month deducted from his paycheck for a Silverleaf timeshare. He loves it. I accompanied him and his wife to Galveston a couple of times, and I must admit they're not bad, but, if you do the math they're a big fucking rip off.

Free Boat if you buy a timeshare in Aspen Colorado! Get there and its a raft with a hole in it :(

It's a total ripoff. When you go on an ocean cruise do you buy part of the whole fucking boat or just rent a cabin for a few days? If timeshares were a profitable investment then buying one might make some sense. Alas, they are not so therefore it is a BAD IDEA to buy one. Stay at an all-inclusive 5-start resort somewhere when you go on vacation. They are terrific bargains compared to timeshares. Save your real estate funds to buy something that will actually give you some equity in return for your investment is my advice.

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
Didn't that South Park episode teach you anything. Timeshare, more like Ass Rape!

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
If it is a houseboat time share I am certainly for that!

The only way it remotely makes sense is, if you want to take the same vacation, same time of year, same location, every single year.

This shit used to make sense. With the ability to buy deals online at late dates and at low prices, it's ridiculous to lock into a timeshare now.

Does my bum look big on this forum?
My Aunt and Uncle Travel about 4 to 5 times a year and they love there time shares. But that’s the thing you will have to want to travel a few times a year every year to make it worth the money. If you decide not to travel 1 year you are already in the hole.

Is somewhere outhere.
My friend has one and he uses it quite a lot,as he has a network of
others to exchange with. His missus doesn't keep well either,so it's
handy for her to have loads of space instead of being cooped up in
a pigeon hole.

But as for myself I wouldn't buy one :)

I used to sell them. More people than not were disappointed.

Would you hit it?
I grew up in a real estate family, the business is back stabbing and blood thirsty. there are only 2 types of property to be involved with, - directly rent where you are the sole person or at least the primary and have the power to kick out the room mate, or own the property out right. any property shared - in a trust or an estate or in a contract, does not matter it "WILL" be lost. "When" it goes to court (& sooner or later it does) the lawyers get everything, god help you if the other guy's cousin Eddie is a lawyer. you want a vacation property, plan a head and rent for the season.
any form of shared property will eventually get you screwed.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
If I could (on the cheap) pick up a couple of foreclosure condos in popular areas, I'd like to offer them as timeshares. So what does that tell ya? :)

Just like a lot of land deals (like the one in Arkansas offered by Eric "Ponch" Estrada), it's generally better to be a seller than a buyer.

Buy a time share if -
A)you don't mind somebody else telling you when you get to take up occupancy on a property
B)you don't mind paying variable assessment fees for property upkeep and renovation.

Bad idea
