What grade do you give to this year's "Uproar Festival" lineup?

I'm going to give it a B; here's what I think:

Avenged Sevenfold - A very solid headliner returning from last year. These guys pack a punch and are one of the most talented bands out there right now. Even if you don't like their songs, you gotta give it up for the fucking HOTT women that dance around at their shows. :drool1:

Three Days Grace - They've got some pretty fuckin' overrated songs (like Break and World So Cold) but also some excellent ones (like Riot and Lost In You). You know your lineup is solid when these guys are a supporting act.

Seether - Another solid band. These guys can kick it hardcore (Gasoline, No Jesus Christ) but can also sing some great power ballads (Broken, Rise Above This).

Bullet For My Valentine - These guys are also pretty good. Maybe I'm just a pussy but I prefer their melodic songs to their heavier ones.

Escape the Fate - I only know their song "Issues" and it's garbage.

Sevendust - What a kick ass band! I can't believe these guys aren't on the main stage. The story of their career has been being underrated.

Art Of Dying - I only know "Die Trying." It has great lyrics but is boring as hell otherwise. A wannabe Three Days Grace song, lol.

Black Tide - Cool, underrated band.

Black Cloud Collective - Who are they? :dunno: I hope they're good.

Honestly, I give that lineup a D. It could be an F, depending on what A7x has on their setlist. Three Days Grace, Seether and Art of Dying are essentially the same shit band. Bullet For My Valentine and A7X are pop metal. A riff here and there, but overall they just suck. Especially BFMV. Sevendust is washed up and haven't released a good album since '99. I've only heard one garbage song on the radio by Escape The Fate and they suck. I haven't heard the other two, but if they're associated with these bands, I'm not going to bother looking them up.

seether makes me wanna puke in my pocket. as does sevendust. not a fan of those mainstream safe studio sounds-like-a-lot-of-bands-already monsters.

i dont mean to rain on your parade though . i hope you score with a hot chick or 3. some really hot babes go so some really bad concerts.

So what's your kind of rock, man? I pretty much try to listen to everything, but I can be pretty "generic" a lot of the time.

And thanks! I always wonder if guys actually can score at concerts when you don't look like the guys in the band.

well. i dunno. it seems like theres a lot of bands that can work their instruments ok and everything but they all seem to gravitate to that generic kind of sound. its always bugged me.

if you remember when marilyn manson came out with antichrist superstar, all of the sudden, a million bands were mimicking not only the style but his voice. everyone had that deep wannabe scary sound. it drove me nuts!

i was always into punk growing up, hence my hardheadedness. you know, dead kennedys, sex pistols, the ramones, exploited, you know, the old stuff .. that sorta shit but thats not all i like, but its the core of my tastes. you gotta go outside the box with me. sound different.

possibly my favourite band is the smashing pumpkins. they strive to be so different. always experimenting with sound. sonic youth takes time to grow on you with their NY sound but its good since they dont even use standard tuning on their guitars. they use lots of sounds and techniques.

nine inch nails. self explanatory.

i dab in metal sometimes, a little pantera never hurt anyone.

being picky sucks, but sometimes i get some compliments on my tastes. its probably a lot easier just to like everything if you ask me

The only band on that list I remotely like Avenged Sevevfold, but that is only a song or two. I'm more into older stuff like Pink Floyd.

I give it a D cause the only band I like there is Sevendust, plus Seether is on there and those guys suck, I saw them live and they showed no emotion, passion, or energy, whatsoever, they just wanted to get paid and get out. I could stand BFMV before but they became toooo emo, like way toooooo emo, 4 words to choke upon was an ok song, but everything after that was blah.

Dethklok and Mastodon should be on there and maybe Lamb of God and Shadows Fall or something like that, those are the only bands that stand out to me that are 00's/10's metal and don't sound like a convoluted mess of sound.

im surprised too! i thought most people where into this kind of stuff. i was also surprised that that xmen movie getting a bad look upon it.

my FO friends are growing up. im so proud of them! :bawling:
