what scenes in horror movies really freaked you out?

So what exactly do you find appealing in some girl getting raped and slashed open?

Whoever said girls get raped in EVERY horror movie? Who said someone gets slashed open in every horror movie? Generalize much?

I suggest you go have a look at some work by Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee....

There's a certain thrill in the suspense that comes from horror movies- whether or not someone ends up slashed, bitten by a vampire, or anything else. Yep, I can appreciate a good special effect of a gal getting slashed open. Does it mean I like when/if it happens to someone in real life? Hell no it doesn't.

But it's fiction. I don't much care for Harry Potter, but I'm not going to bash people who do.

I have to say, I actually get turned off by torture and rape in horror movies- I think a movie can be creepy and scary without those things. But for some people, that is what gets to them, so what?

I guess I don't understand why you think you have the right to judge people as being sick in the head because they enjoy the thrill of horror movies.

I remember watching the movie "Phantasm" when I was young, and the scene that freaked me out was when The Tall Man picked up a coffin all by himself and put it into a hearse. :eek:
