the key is to remember that marrying a family member is love but marrying an individual of the same sex is an abomination

So thankful I live in Canada, where anyone who is love with another person, can acknowledge that in every way possible.
Er OK? How is that any argument? Cos famous people dun it its OK to fuck your own relations? :dunno:Its been said, but whilst I'd never marry a cousin it is normal in many places and historically. Einstein, EA Poe, FDR and countless other 'stars' married their cousins.
Most societies?I said I wouldnt do it myself as point 1, but we cant deny that it is a historic and social norm in most societies AND remains popular in Asia/ME society.

Look at most Royal Families which have historically indulged in interbreeding between cousins & then ask the question, "who does cousin marriage harm".The difference here is that who does cousin marriage harm? If it is consented marriage that is. One has to look at it through an anthropological perspective. Most societies practised or practice it, and also there isnt a word against it against any religious text.
Today, in this society in the west, yes it is 'gross', even I feel that. But I wont judge others who adhere to said practices. Esp those who are doing so in far away lands.
The real reason why there are still laws against this are the politicians. Instead of voting how the majority of constituents want them to, most politicians allow themselves to be influenced by religious intolerance. They use the same tired excuse about it harming the fabric of society, which is bullshit. The real question they should ask is this; How will it effect my life? The fact is, it won't. If two guys (or women) across the street, or, across the country, want to be married, it's not going to have any effect on anyone other than the two people getting married. Really, does anyone think stopping gay marriage is going to change a gay to a straight? Get real. It's the same with cousins. If they want to be with each other, let them. It's time the government stopped meddling in the personal lives of it's citizens, and to honor the constitution by separating church and state.
How is marrying your first cousin even legal? How can anything that would result in children with likely disabilities or conditions be legal? I don't get it. Cousins marrying= higher risk for unhealthy offspring....gays marrying= nothing worse than straight marriages have already offered us *ie. stupid high divorce rates, adultery, etc*
stupid stupid stupid. So thankful I live in Canada, where anyone who is love with another person, can acknowledge that in every way possible.
More than one wife? :bigear:
