Nah, I'm not really a night worker. I'm not really a day worker, either. The beauty of stagehanding is that you work whenever it needs to happen. Working nights is actually great because we get double-time after midnight. If you're working under the right contract, a midnight-to-8am shift could gross you well over $700 bucks. So, I guess you could say that I prefer working nights

Last night, er, this morning, I got home at 4 because last night was the first night of the tour and it took the road guys WAAAAY too fucking long to figure out the pack and what goes where. That's what sucks about living in the SF Bay Area. 90% of tours either start or end here. Both take about 50% longer to load out than middle-of-the-run tours. With starts of the tour it takes longer because the road guys are still trying to figure out what goes where in the truck. With ends of the tour it takes longer because all the shit has to get sorted out and packed in different trucks so it can get back to its respective warehouse or go to another tour.
