I saw a special on gravity the other day and they talked about this guy Joseph Kittinger, who in 1960, skydived from about 20 miles above ground. That's basically out in space (making him the first man in space, actually). and he jumped from there :eek:

I've seen that footage of him jumping quite a few times and everytime I see it, it always amazes me that it actually happened because it was the unknown. No one really knew what the effects of those conditions would have on the human body.

If it was me I'd be thinking about my own death all the way up and probably all the way back down. So much so that I'd probably forget to open my parachute. Ka-SPLAT! :eek:
