Freeones is my hero!
Guys, I've been doing retail for 12yrs and quite frankly, working under several assholes, getting looked over many times for douchebags and working shitty hours, I'm thinking of quitting and starting my own business.

Does anybody here own a business, work from home etc..
I hate to ask but how much did it cost you to start and have any advice.

I have a few pennies saved in my profit sharing and thinking about selling collectibles online and eventually open my store.

I changed my middle-name to Freeones
All depends on what you are selling.

The federal SBA can be helpful.

Also: many states have small business departments that give low interest loans for start up costs. I don't know about Texas.

Also II: Do not skimp on marketing particularly at the beginning.

The more I look, the harder it gets!
It depends.
I've always started with next to nothing (couple hundred to thousand) and just put whatever I make back into it.
Since you're selling already made items, I guess ebay and word of mouth would be good so you can focus more money on marketing and getting good products.

You're in TX like I am so I know there's places you can get help from.
Like Baill mentioned, get with the SBA. They have so much info and free biz counseling in some areas.

Go for it. Its nice being the HBIC.
