I saw this discussion on another forum and thought maybe our Trump fans could clarify which of two things can be assigned to Trump here.

Recently President Trump had this to say about a program called The Diversity Immigrant Visa Program:

“They call it ‘visa lottery,’ I just call it ‘lottery.’ But countries come in and they put names in a hopper. They’re not giving you their best names; common sense means they’re not giving you their best names. They’re giving you people that they don’t want. And then we take them out of the lottery. And when they do it by hand — where they put the hand in a bowl — they’re probably — what’s in their hand are the worst of the worst.”

The reality is, that isn't even close to how this program works. Trump's very own dot gov site contradicts all of the above.
Countries don't come in and place people's names in a hopper :1orglaugh And nobody fishes around for names in a glass bowl :rofl:
Applications are made by individuals, with their countries of origin having no say in some sort of scraping-the-bottom-of-the barrel assignment.
Applicants who are accepted don't suddenly win an unvetted free ride to citizenship. Only the opportunity for a consular interview to see if, under U.S. law, they might meet the eligibility requirements for standard means of application.

So the question here is:
1) Is Trump really this ignorant
or
2) Is he lying? And if he's lying, why?

BS. I've consistently noted Obama's ACA gaffe as the worst most humiliating moment of his presidency, and rightfully so.
At least he assumed responsibility for the fuck up, which I've yet to see the current president ever do over anything.

So what does it say about Trumps "base" that they find this kind of rank horseshit acceptable? Or that in many (most?) cases are too ignorant to even know they're being played?

Humiliating? That’s it? What about the ramifications for an entire country? I personally know at least 10 people that had health insurance coverage in 2010 and by 2014 had dropped out of the system because they could not afford it.

Has Obama assumed responsibility for the fuckup of premiums and deductibles tripling? It wasn’t a fuckup it was planned, a lie. Didn’t you say that you somehow benefit from ACA? What does it say about Obama’s base that class warfare, identity politics, wealth redistribution is acceptable. “Pay your fair share” and all that jazz.

I was paying my fair share even when he was saying we needed to pay more.

I’ll assume that as a Californian, you are happy with illegals being a protected class, the fiscal policy of that state and taxes through the roof to pay for it. All I know is that even CNN admitted last night that the Trump recovery is real and sustainable. That’s all I care about at the moment and his insults of foreign nationals that seek to come here to this shithole country don’t bother me in the least.

My brother will get whacked hard if we go back to eliminating pre-existing conditions. The amount of money he's spent out of pocket on a non covered issue over the course of his life is truly obscene, and a burden that would break most americans.

But anyway, bottom line - you're just fine with Trump lying, including to his base. Even though you know it helps create a remarkably ignorant, paranoid base.

And your justification seems to be that it's fine for Trump to be a serial liar being as you believe Obama was dishonest. A pretty low standard there, wouldn't you say?

Let’s examine some of the so called “ big lies” he has told:

“Obama tapped my wires at Trump Tower”
Careful now, Trump met with Admiral Mike Rodgers and the next day Trump moved his transition headquarters to his New Jersey country club. Obama wanted to fire Rodgers.

I see you are still hung up on Trump’s inauguration attendance claim. The historical significance of Obama’s inauguration cannot be denied and I am certain that blacks showed up in droves to witness the event. That said, there is the real possibility that the MSM who adores Obama inflated his attendance numbers.

Again, to criticize the Trump base as some gullible group of misfits hanging onto every word is laughable when anyone that pays attention knows for a fact that the biggest group of sheeple and dependents are the Obama/Democrat base.
