Why We Have Freedom

On this Memorial Day weekend, I'd like to take a moment to thank those who have sacrificed their lives for the United States of America. It is only by you we're are able to enjoy these freedoms we so often take for granted. To all those who have contributed, fought and died for freedom, I thank you! :bowdown: :hatsoff:

Many of us would not be here today if those brave men and women in the middle of the last century had not done what they did. That goes for many of us....Americans and Europeans alike.

So, in honor of those brave souls, we should take a moment today and be silent, pensive, and consider our thanks for those who gave some, for those who gave all, and for those who supported the righteous.

Peace be with you all, and cheers! How the world has changed!!!

It's symbolic and guessing posted out of respect. Men & women fought and died on the German side too so this is a mark of respect on their behalf. Also it's to show that once we were enemies but now are not. That is my guess anyway.

Nothing wrong with the stars and bars. The South is rising a little more every day! Just another thing that makes this country so great. And I'd say it's more likely the Confederate flag will be chastised most often by pansy politically-correct whites. African Americans who criticize the flag, I would say, are in the minority. Most could give a damn. Like any other flag, it's nothing more than a symbol of regional pride. Those who read any more into it, just don't get it. Those who use it to represent something else, are doing the flag a disservice.

For the "historically challenged" among us, the two official World Wars were, more or less, against Germany since it was the principle aggressor nation...hence the German flag I posted -- this world is an overwhelmingly different world today, and Germans are among the most positive and constructive members of the world community!!!
