uh, what? the guardian is a reputable newspaper... all they are doing here is that they offer to search the documents, based on reader's suggestions. they then publish what they find.
The US sought out stories of Cuban medical malpractice in order to discredit the island's free universal healthcare system, a leaked diplomatic cable shows.

Anna Politkovskaya murder:
Murdered Russian investigative journalist Anna Politkovskaya had claimed that she had become accustomed to receiving death threats and "she had accepted the possibility that she could be killed at any time, and talked about it very little", a source revealed to the US ambassador to Moscow in 2006.

The rather chilling insight into Politkovskaya state of mind before her murder in 2006 appears in a confidential cable dated 9 October 2006.

The source is said to have claimed that Politkovskaya "constantly" received threats – "by telephone, letter, by e-mail, by SMS". The most frequent threats, the source said, had come from the Chechen prime minister "Kadyrov's people" (not necessarily with Kadyrov's knowledge) and the Russian special forces, whose brutalities in Chechnya had been exposed by Politkovskaya.

MasterCard is a reputable charge card with a reputable site too...they were hacked in this back and forth too.

You never know who's site is getting attacked in all of this nor for what reasons.

You have goobers here on this very board with nothing better to do than try and compromise the computers of other users...who can understand the mind of people who do this against those who challenge their interests.

The Guardian is challenging an interest with this the same way MasterCard was.

Watch this;

HM: Who are you and why do you want some of this information?

Namreg: Why..I'm 'namreg' and it's just interesting reading for me.

HM: Okay so now I know who you are, why you want to read this information and so do the readers of your response on FOs. However, there are people who have an interest in who's interested in this information who don't know who 'Namreg' is nor why he's interested in it for whom hacking a site to find out is not even a mild debate in their mind to do.:2 cents:

Not saying that is the case but if you understand the motivations, capabilities and methods of those interested in the most minute of circumstances in these types of things...you'd watch where you click. No matter how reputable the site...as You Might find out years later through some similar such leaks that the UK Guardian's site was hacked by some g'ment in order to data mine who was looking for certain information.:2 cents:

all they have to do is ask my ISP...

 Are you serious Namreg?

They're not looking for you specifically (unless for some reason they are). No. 1, they would be data mining. 2. If they didn't want say...the people who they are interested in knowing what they are up to or finding out they wouldn't involve others in what they're interested in or doing (i.e. ISPs ...) unless it's utterly necessary. In this case it wouldn't be nor would it be practical.

so you won't look at certain websites because you are afraid that your government might then track you because they think looking at information is illegal and educating yourself is a crime... no wonder you don't live in a free country anymore.

Well, in this circumstance I think it's completely plausible there is allot of hacking going around. I was just making mention of what my approach to it is.

And if you ever had someone invading your computer(s) you should know that the potential for it is not worth the hassle. It's not about being afraid.

well you sound afraid.

:1orglaughOkay.:dunno:

I just thought it was worth mentioning.:hatsoff:

But why does a person close a bathroom door if everyone knows they are doing 1 of only a few things in there?

you said that you were afraid of your government tracing (and the presumably what, assassinate you?) because you looked at a newspaper website. ho does that equate to taking a dump??

i know you live in a police state, but the rest of us in the free world (and britain...) enjoy reading every now and then.

....and fuck you Sweden! nice try/ nice setup -- but u will lose!

Then you didn't read my posts. The first thing I said was I didn't want to subject my computer to being hacked....because it would be a hassle. How did you read I fear the g'ment assassinating me??

And the rhetorical question about closing the door when people use the bathroom has to do with this; Just because a person may have nothing to hide doesn't mean they want people in their business.
i know you live in a police state, but the rest of us in the free world (and britain...) enjoy reading every now and then.

 Not sure where you live but I know in some of other places known as the so called free world...if you (being there) and me (being here) both wake up in the middle of the night and we both blow away an intruder....we both will get parades. The only likely difference will be is my parade will be by my neighbors cheering my relieving the earth of another piece of scum...yours will likely be by some local law enforcement hauling you down to central booking.
