I have my first session with a personal trainer on Friday. If I don't post on Monday, you'll know he killed me. ;-)

I've got the discipline, but I'm a creature of habit and I'll go and do the same weight training exercises every time. I'm good at breaking up my cardio routines but bad at the weights.

So now I'll have someone who can come up with new routines for me weekly. ;)

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
Used to run but knees been fucked since december so no chance of going back to that. I couldn't put on weight if I tried and although I'm unfit I've been checked for everything like blood pressure and cholestral etc and have no problems there

I work out all the time. Unfortunately, I have also had multiple injuries that have set me back in the last year and a half. I've broken a bone in my big toe, burnt some of my fingers, had something go wrong with one of my thumbs and had a pinched nerve in my back that took a while to go away in that time. All of them were injuries I got from things other than working out. I have recently got to the point i"m totally healthy again. It sucks having to gain back all I've lost. It even worse when I consider they were relatively minor injuries, but they were always something in an area that almost totally limited what I could do.

yeah, injuries can screw you up, especially on the hands I suppose
I have something wrong with my left shoulder.
when I do a normal flat bench it feels like broken glass inside the joint and the pain from that makes me have to stop before the muscle is spent from the press.
the only thing i can do is warm up and stretch it a lot before I go in and hope its not that bad that day.

there shouldn't be working outs longer than 45 min per session

I disagree, to an extent.

that depends on the intensity or speed of the workout.
45 minutes can be sufficient for a smalller muscle group like biceps or triceps.
for example i usually hit legs, chest, back for about 1-1/2 hours, sometimes 2......but I'm resting for about 4 minutes in between sets.

In the old days Arnold and his buddies would spend 4 hours in the gym each day......then again they was on some drugs and eating like horses.

here's a video of Arnolds motivation technique, a must see for any novice or advanced bodybuilder.

my problem with my workouts is i over do it with my legs.

im into cardio right now with no plans for muscle building at all, im just trimming down.

after a couple of runs, my ankles and calves are pretty sore and it ends up impeding my workout the next day or a cpl days after that.

I just do it as a hobby, but I figure if I'm gonna do it I might as well do it in a way to get the best results.
plus it gets me pussy once in a while.

I don't work out at all. I know, I should. But its partly my laziness, partly me simply not having enough time in my day, and partly afraid to lose my big booty. :/

I just got 500 myFreeOnes points!
I run 3 to 6 miles per day, about 25-30 miles per week. Also do some basic cross-training, like pushups, situps, squats, and of course a good bit of stretching.

Make sure you get some strength training in to balance out the cardio. If you don't, you'll actually lose muscle.
