This reminds me an incident I had with an alarm clock. On the box it advertised the word's loudest alarm clock. So I thought I would give it a try since I am hard to wake up. When I got home I plugged it in and set the alarm. As I am trying to sleep I hear the alarm clock going tic toc, tic toc. It was so loud I could not sleep. I put the clock in another room and I could still hear it. In the morning the alarm went off but I did not hear it. It was the world's loudest clock when plugged in.
