Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
The Los Angeles Clippers have struggled in a league that has proven time and again, if you get the right two players, you can make the playoffs. This team has had numerous #1 overall picks not work out worth a shit. Free agents want to play in LA, but not for this franchise. Can't make the playoffs, can't draft worth a shit and can't get free agents.

They are a joke.

If FreeOnes was a woman, I'd marry her!
I have to say it's the Pittsburgh Pirates. They just clinched last place in the central division of the National League....31 1/2 games out of first and their 17th consecutive losing season. How does it get any worse than that? A real shame too....Pittsburgh is a great sports town and deserves better.

I have to agree. My beloved Pirates are so hopeless that several years ago I adopted the Dodgers as co-favorites so I can have a team to root for beyond the month of May.

You Must be from Pittsburgh, only a Pittsburgher can say beloved Pirates

Childhood in Ellwood City (the Pirates were good at the time!)
Moved to Los Angeles for a time, then points north.

Why are you reading this?
The thing about the Pirates is that even with a horrible team, the team makes money (mostly because of the beautiful ballpark). As it turns out by not paying for players and sustaining a bad team, a good financial investment can be made.

The one and only.
I resent a Cardinals fan putting my Chicago Cubs on this list. But you're probably right. In terms of ineptitude, idiotic free agent signings, and stupid trades, we're unparalleled in the lengths we'll go to destroy a team.

There are so many players on our current roster that I cannot stand and would love to trade elsewhere. My least favorite would be Soriano. I swear, if I saw him on the street, I would kill him. Literally, I would rip him limb from limb and tear out his internal organs. Then I would calmly walk to the police station and hope that my trial was held in Chicago.

If you wish to live wisely, ignore sayings including this one.
I would have to say that it's a tie between the Pirates and the Clippers. When they find out that they actually have a good player of two on the team, they get rid of them so that they don't ask for more money when their contract is up.

Although, how the hell can you argue with 101 years of futility that is the Chicago Cubs?

I don't know and frankly I don't care.
even though i don't think they're the worst, im from chicago and have to be upset with their uncanny ability to fuck up.

You can't have everything! Where would you put it?!
I've been watching the Bengals since 1990 and have endured some truly woeful seasons. (I recall that I was at a freezing cold Rverfront stadium when we kicked a field goal to notch up our 3rd victory of the season on it's last day and they estimated that there were less than 3,000 people still in the stadium to see it. Talk about an electric atmosphere. Everything you say about the owners is true, but I'm not sure they are the worst ever team though. Didn't they make two superbowls back in the 80's? And if one of their players hadn't dropped an interception in the last minute or so they would have been champions.

Looking over this thread I feel I might be part of a select group of individuals who have seen in person both the Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals in a playoff game.

What about the Washington Natinals? They can't even spell the name on the jerseys right!

FreeOnes is pumping through my veins!
Pirates easily. They are nothing but an extra farm team for the Major League teams. Develop some pretty nice talent and then send them off to contenders for prospects. Then they develop those prospects into talent and trade it away. It's a never ending cycle.

As a fellow Cubs fan, I have to agree. Fans deserve so much more from this franchise. I've been waiting over 35 years for a championship, but that is nothing to a lot of older fans. I can't imagine being in my 90's and never seeing them win. But the way it's going now, I may end up in that situation.
