The State Of California and City Of Los Angeles are the stones in my shoe. Obama is a great selling tool and no one can argue that. Perception is reality and that makes the cash register overflow with money.

After reading a couple times I'm not sure if you're taking exception to my post. If you are then I will say that I'm not implying that liberals can't be manipulated in any way. But as a gunowner that has gunowner friends, the amount of sincere belief that Obama was ever going to somehow "take our guns" is as stunning as it is depressing to me. I mean, it really is ridiculous to me that this is actually happening. Again, I support of anyone's next purchase of a firearm, so no problem. But how do so many people rise up in defense of their Constitution while at the exact same time demonstrate their total ignorance of it? In other words, please explain to me how any President that we are ever going to elect is ever going to "take our guns." Please explain the process to me.

I wasn't. I was providing balance making the other side take account for their apathetic submission. I'm no fan of the Republicans either as they seem to be enslaved by the Israelis. Both sides of the aisle are horribly compromised and corrupted by AIPAC though.

Barack Obama has to know by now the gun industry uses him as a scarecrow. I don't think Barack Obama will take a grain of gun powder away from me. The Gun Control people receive the pat on the head once more.

Less than $100 in the early 90's. Chinese SKS's and old Mausers were going for about the same price until the Assault Weapons Ban became law. But I shit you not, I saw an ad in a trade paper just a week or so ago where a guy had a used Norinco SKS (that had been converted to accept AK mags), some ammo, a couple of AK 30 round mags and a 100 round AK drum... for $500! I wouldn't pay more than $250 for that whole package. But some paranoid sucker probably snapped it up for $450 (what a deal!). Hey, God wouldn't have made them sheep if he had a problem with them getting sheared. Am I right or am I right... or am I right?

If I bought them, it would only be because I'd know I could sell every one at a profit - and around here, I know I could. If I had a dollar for every person I know in my area who believed those Annie Oakley horseshit stories, that ol' Sarah Pee's PR Machine told about her shooting wolves (or whatever) from a helicopter, I could pay cash for a new Jag XFR-S. Only after seeing that episode of her fake reality TV show (where she didn't know one caliber from another or even how to chamber a round by herself - thanks, Dad!) did a lot of the hayseeds realize that she wasn't really "one of us".

SKS is a good gun. I shoulda been smart and bought a bunch in the 90s at gun shows myself. Just put them in a box like collectables and let them appreciate over the years. Those guns could save your life one day by selling them after stashing them away for a rainy day.

As a more Conservative guy, I wish Sarah Palin would go away. We have such bad candidates to choose from on both sides of the aisle. Conservatives and Liberals both deserve better.

I've had several (Chinese) SKSs over the years. For what they are, they're not bad. They make decent "brush guns" for deer hunting. The last one I took hunting had open sights and a sporter/hunting stock. And while I don't claim to be the Ultimate Sniper, I am (or was) a pretty decent shot. I emptied the magazine on that poor, old deer. And the only thing I killed was every tree and bush around it. I guess he finally got tired of all the noise and wandered off so he could eat in peace. I looked like Sarah Pee in that hunting episode she did. I should have used better ammo (not the cheap Chinese crap) but I never took it hunting again. After that I usually took my .45 Magnum in the brush.

As for Sarah, I don't think she'll EVER be a candidate again. Much like Donnie Trump, she makes more money (and that's all she cares about) flapping her lips than she ever could being a (serious) political candidate and having to do a job and be held accountable. But yeah, by being a (big) face of the TEA Party faction of the GOP, she prevents people like me from taking the Republican party seriously. Some candidates I like. But once the knuckle-draggers and wingnuts brainwash them, they usually end up turning me off. I continue to say that we need a 3rd party like United We Stand again.

Lots of things in common here. I'm sniffing around 3rd party considering the Libertarians. Sarah Palin and the other religious kooks going away like Gingrich and Santorum might make the Conservative movement more attractive to others. I wanted to hear more from Jon Huntsman in the debates too. He seemed somewhat reasonable from the little I heard from him.

I never had an SKS but had a Norinco AK clone and now have a Bulgarian SA-93 that I like.

On the GOPers, I agree with Bobby Jindal: it's (deservedly) becoming known as The Stupid Party - Palin, Bachmann and Perry don't help matters much on that. By mainly appealing to people who can barely add & subtract or read & write, whose parents were close kin, are paranoid racists or xenophobes and/or who think that the Earth is 10,000 years old, they have to rely on people who just won't vote for Democrats (or who are too chicken-shit to vote for/support a good 3rd party candidate) for extra votes. And that really is too bad. What's even worse is that Americans are sheep and can't see voting for anything other than one of the big two. So we end up picking the lesser of two evils (based on our beliefs/prejudices)... the least dirty of the two dirty shirts in the hamper.

I'm a nice fella with a few bucks and some property who just doesn't want the government to attach itself to my good fortune like a tapeworm. They're not there consoling me when I take a hit so leave me alone right from the start. I've learned my lesson about war after years of supporting Republicans and their enslavement to Israel. This is why I see the things I prioritize being closer to Libertarian than any other party has been able to appeal to me. Lesser of two evils ends up being just as corrupt. We deserve better options.

Yeah. We're convinced that voting third-party is for not but voting for Republicans and Democrats seem like the wasted vote. I'm just helping those who are indifferent to me.
