Honestly - as much of a zero carbon, save the ant kinda guy I am, I find cyclists to be very, very hard to resist targets.
Do they pay road tax - no.
Do they have to pass a comparable road safety test as all other road users do - no
Are they forced to carry criminally inflated insurance as prerequisite to paying for the privilege of driving their criminally high financed car on universally shitty roads - No
Are they pulled over by cops for speeding - no (and, yes, they not only speed they also blast though stop and give way signs as though they weren't there.
Despite being responsible for at least 50% of all car-bike accidents, are they ever prosecuted - like fuck they are
Do they whinge, complain and bitch all the time about the quality of roads they don't pay to cycle on, about drivers who have passed tests they haven't, and an environment they think they are protecting, while ignoring the environmental devastation caused by the manufacturing of the lycra they are clad in, the polythene their water bottles are made of, or the polystyrene their helmets are made from, nevermind the Chinese child labor that made them.
Cyclist activists are perhaps the worst examples of eco-activists: people who use a concept: energy consumption from body motion (all good, BTW) as an excuse to proselytize while ignoring the hypocrisy they are literally clothed in.
Why should they pay road tax? They don't destroy the roads with tons of weight and they don't need them. Even when they use them, they only take up a fraction of them. A cyclist can operate equally well on the pavement.
Why should they pay car insurance? They don't have cars. You knew what you were getting into when you got the car. It's your fault. Shitty roads? They don't need the roads really.
Why should they pass a road safety test? Who's ever been killed by being hit by a cyclist?
Why should they pay insurance? They can't kill people and destroy property by crashing.
But those that do pay their insurance are overly charged when their bike gets nicked.
How on earth can a cyclist speed?
Show me the statistic where it says they're responsible for 50% of accidents?
Even then,it's kinda hard to prosecute a dead guy.
Do they whinge about the roads? I've never heard 'em do it.
Do they whinge about the drivers? Well, lets see, if somebody plays games with not just your health, but your life, I think it would be bizzarre NOT to whinge.
So them wearing cycling clothes is worse than you driving a multi-ton lump of metal which has to pollute to move? I mean, you HAVE to compromise somewhere: It pollutes to make a bike, it pollutes to make clothes, at least they're trying...
