Triple H is now said to be receptive to turning babyface.

Am I missing something though?

I didn't think DX was really considered a "babyface" gimmick?

To me it looks like the return of DX is a 100% lock. What I'm curious to see is what rivalries do you set Micheals & HHH up against? And do they bring any other members into DX? DX's power was their strength in numbers, when they had Sean, HHH, X-Pac, Chyna & Billy Gunn and Jesse James...not that any of them will be back...but do they recruit new members from either of the RAW or SMACKDOWN rosters????

Hmmmmmmmmmmm....

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the decision is final, and John Cena vs. RVD will be the main event for the ECW One Night Stand PPV this year.

WWE will likely be using this opportunity to finally turn Cena heel, after getting booed by fans for months.

The Coach Update/New Gimmick, Grisham, Ross, & More News

Jonathan Coachman actually asked to be taken off the announce team on Raw. He is expected to debut as a "new age" type of character. He will be a heel, but not in the traditional sense. More information on this will be forthcoming.

Todd Grisham will be calling HEAT by himself this week since Jonathan Coachman has been missing ever since he was assaulted by Viscera after the bikini contest in London two weeks ago.

Jim Ross is being honored in his hometown of Westville, Oklahoma this weekend.

WWE will be making a trip to Puerto Rico towards the end of June. They are promoting it as "SummerSlam/SmackDown & Carlos Colon present WWE's Biggest Party of the Summer!" This Smackdown brand house show will be held on June 29th at the Coliseo De Puerto Rico in San Juan
.

----------

WWE has been trying very hard as of late to land ECW a TV deal on the USA network. Many believe that it will eventually happen. Sources indicate that WWE knows that they really need ECW to have its own TV slot instead of an internet show if they want it to succeed.

oh, by the way... incase you didn't know Umaga is Jamal of former WWE tag team "3 Minute Warning" Rosey & Jamal

I joined ‘cause I was ‘high’!
Yeah thats who Umaga looked like. I wish Rosey was still wresling and not look like a super hero. He was a big guy who could move fast. who knows maybe he'll come back, if Jamal can then i guess he can too. If D-X get's back together they could have him lol.

As if Cena needs any more heat, I hope the Boston native wrestles that show in a Sawx jersey. That would go over like a lead balloon in the heart of Manhattan ... and I'd love every minute of it.

WWE Sign Midget Sidekick For Fit Finlay

Several reports have confirmed that World Wrestling Entertainment has signed midget wrestler Nick Postl, better known as Shortstack. Shortstack, a veteran of NWA Wisconsin, currently works using the gimmick of "The World's Sexiest Midget", and is believed to be given a Leprechaun gimmick to work as a sidekick to Fit Finlay.

Shortstack recently appeared in WWE programming once before in a backstage skit involving Candice Michelle, Gene Snitsky and Goldust that aired on WWE Unlimited a few weeks back.

Tommy Dreamer Signs New Contract, Returning To The Ring

PWInsider reports that Tommy Dreamer has signed a new wrestlers contract with WWE to wrestle in the new ECW. Right now it looks like he will still also continue doing his work at OVW.

Dreamer has been the one calling up all the ECW guys about contracts, and will be in charge of the new ECW alongside Paul Heyman.

Jeff Hardy To WWE?

WWE has informally approached Jeff Hardy in regards to returning at the end of the summer. However, he must be clean, as there is zero tolerance on his drug issues. Friends are saying that he is working on those drug issues.

Mark Henry Signs WWE Contract Extension

Dave Meltzer reports that Mark Henry's WWE contract has been extended. Henry signed a 10 year contract with the WWE back in 1996 after he competed in the Olympics for $1 million dollars a year. Henry's new deal is not guarenteed and lasts through 2007. His money has been cut down from $1 million a year dollars to $300,000 a year.

Vince Happy With Grisham, WWE In Trouble

As noted on WWE's website, Todd Grisham called Heat this week solo since Jonathan "The Coach" Coachman is moving out of his role as an announcer for the company and simply as a character on TV.

On a related note, Vince McMahon was said to be very happy with Grisham's commentary during the main event of RAW last Monday.

According to reports, the state of Kentucky will be fining WWE for their use of blood at the Backlash PPV last Sunday in Lexington. It is no secret that WWE was fully aware of the state's rules against blood usage at pro wrestling events, a rule that was first put into place after the IWA promotion and their heavy use of blood at events. It should be noted that Ohio Valley Wrestling uses fake blood in Louisville at TV tapings to prevent from being fined. It really is no surprise that WWE did this as they did a similar action in Maryland when Vince McMahon wrestled his daughter Stephanie in a match that was against the state's rules. When that took place, WWE was aware of the rule and said along the lines of "where do we send the check." The general feeling is that Vince McMahon will do whatever he wants and will pay any fine when it is over.

Major WWE Spoiler

The following is a big spoiler. You've been warned.
(highlight below to see spoiler)

Mick Foley is expected to turn heel either tonight or in the next week or so. WWE management and Foley himself feel that his current act has grown stale. That is all that is known at this time.

Mark Henry/WWE Contract Update

There are some rumors circulating on the internet saying that Mark Henry has signed a one year contract extension for $300,000 with WWE. Those rumors may be true but nobody has been able to confirm this within WWE.

Fight breaks out at SummerSlam commercial shoot
May 8, 2006

SmackDown Superstars Batista and Booker T got into a knockdown, drag-out fight Monday afternoon on the set of World Wrestling Entertainment’s SummerSlam commercial shoot in Encino, California. Director of WWE Television Promotions, John Gaburick, tells WWE.com the fight broke out during the filming of a scene in the commercial which will be used to promote SummerSlam later this year. “The fight lasted at least five minutes, it was a brutal, bloody, vicious affair,” says Gaburick. “It took JBL, Mark Henry, Chris Benoit, Finlay and road agent Ricky Steamboat to finally break things up.”

Gaburick says, “Both men were banged up pretty good, both men were bloodied up.” After the fight, Booker T and Batista went behind closed doors to try and clear the air. Gaburick says both Booker T and Batista finished their required work on the commercial before leaving the set. When asked what the fight was about, Gaburick would only say “it’s a personal issue between two men.”

The SummerSlam commercial was filmed Sunday using RAW Superstars and Monday using SmackDown competitors.

don't worry, this is just an angle to build up Batista's return

eek, then again....

The fight that broke out between Booker T and Batista at the Summerslam commercial shoot may actually not be something that was done for a future WWE storyline. Both men were said to be legitimately swelling later in the evening. Also, Booker T's wife, Sharmell, became involved at the end of the fight, but not physically involved. More details on this incident will be forthcoming. Also, Batista is expected to be back on television in July. Batista-unleashed.com, a fan site for Batista actually has posted some photos of Batista at the See No Evil premier last night and he is lashed up pretty good.

It should be noted that Booker T has made some offhand, condescending comments in regards to Batista's physique in at least two interviews in the past few years, so there does appear to be some legitimate heat between the two, at least on Booker T's part. In an interview he did last year, Booker T alluded to Batista's alleged steroid use when he said it was going to come back to haunt him when he started tearing muscles. Also, in an interview Booker T did with the now defunct Total Wrestling Magazine in 2002 or 2003 when Batista was just starting out in WWE, he thought Batista's physique looked "freaky" and that he was much too muscular for his own good.

Beth Phoenix.

The blonde that attacked Mickie James on "Raw" Monday night was Beth Phoenix. Phoenix had trained in Louisville until being signed to a developmental deal in October 2005.

As reported earlier, the woman who ran out at the conclusion of the Mickie James vs. Maria match last night on RAW and attacked James was Beth Phoenix. Phoenix had been wrestling in Ohio Valley Wrestling under a developmental contract, and she has apparently now gotten the call-up to be part of the main WWE roster. Phoenix feuded with Mickie James in OVW last Summer and in the early fall (James then wrestled as Alexis Laree). Also of note is that she was at one time Chris Masters' valet in OVW.
