Agreed- as I'd said. Before Joshua Tree, they were a great band. Then the heads swelled, Bono started trying to save the world, and many went to bow at the altar of U2.

Coldplay could certainly be lumped in here, and while thinking of Coldplay, I'm reminded of another band that was so over-hyped it must have killed them all....

oh yeah.. The Strokes.

The music world, today, in general, is lacking in originality and talent. The so called talented "artists" that are hand fed to us are nothing but productions within themselves. It's as if they were chosen by trendy focus groups, how they dress, the sounds they "create", it's all electronically enhanced & photo chopped rubbish !
