Cindy is a depressed prostitute. She is doing it to put her boyfriend through med college. He doesn't know how she gets the money. However, one day her boyfriend discovers her at her pimp's pad and the pimp beats him nearly to death. Ashamed of herself and feeling helpless, Cindy kills herself. At her funeral her friends and family who knew her talk about her life and their relationships with her.
