She earned her B.A. in English from the University of Texas in Austin, along with a secondary school teacher certification. She is a former English teacher at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, a suburb of Dallas, Texas, where she currently resides. She received her certification as a fitness trainer from the famed Cooper Institute in Dallas. A blogger and writer, she has successfully competed in many NPC events, as well as Ms. Olympia.
