Kelly rose to fame with the success of Destiny's Child during the late 90's. The female group had catapulted into the new millenium as one of the best selling groups in history, and Kelly's dream had finally come true. She began singing at the age of 4, when she heard the vocals of Whitney Houston. Kelly would perform in the church choir, but her interest in music blossomed when her family moved to Houston, TX. In Houston, she befriended another aspiring singer, Beyonce, and the two became friends. In the mid 90's, the two girls formed Destiny's Child and made an impressive debut in 1997 with their first single "No, No, No", and their first self titled album went platinum before the year's end. Two more successfull albums followed, Writing's On The Wall (1999) and Survivor (2001) earning the girls fans world wide as well as millions of records sold. Kelly came out with her own solo album in 2002 titled Simply Deep with the hit song "Dilemma", a duet with southern rapper Nelly.
