I now enjoy American football

I love watching football, but quite honestly, if there are not teams that I give a shit about involved, I don't care that much.

I barely watched the super bowl this year. Two teams from the northeast? meh.

Also, I'm more of a fan of college football, which I think is more emotional than pro.

San Francisco 49ers. period.

You, The Admiral and myself are the only sensible people on the board.

The 49ers will have a top 3 defence for the next 10 years and will win at least 2 Super Bowls, retaking our rightful claim to the winningest franchise in NFL history. Fuck the Steelers.

Ummmm, the Bears have the most overall wins in league history and the Cowboys have the best overall winning percentage. Just sayin'.

That had occured to me too.

seriously. they knew NE was gonna take a shot down the field... why not throw on the extra man to help swat it away (which they did). the only bad thing that can happen is the Pats completing the bomb which would have only been easier with 11 defenders. Basically, they killed off at least half the clock and only gave up a meaningless 5 yards with absolutely no risk.

glad u enjoyed it football rocks go pack go look up Barry sanders the best running back ever and Jerry rice keep on watching you will not be disappointed

I'm watching some specialist videos
I do not watch American Football religiously, but have been watching it on and off since it was first shown on Channel 4 here in the UK back in the 1980's.

The St. Louis Rams do not want to play a single game in London, no NFL team does. The St. Louis Rams owner just happens to be the majority shareholder of Arsenal, so he has business reasons for wanting to expand into England.

NFL games in London is a joke and it gives the finger to the U.S. fans of the team who only get 7 home games instead of 8. It's also a logisitcal nightmare. The teams lose 2 full days of practice travelling back and forth.

The games also aren't as popular as the NFL makes out. The crowd is mostly made up of American service men and women stationed in England and I don't think any of them have been sold-out.

Not correct. All the games have been a sell out bar last year, and this was because the tickets went on sale late.
There are quite a few fans of the sport in the UK. I hardly think that there are enough American service men and women and their families to pack out the stadium - capacity is 86,000 for American Football
There were in fact 77,000 at the game last year - this compares rather well with the US where the average attendance for an NFL game is approx. 67,000

I think you should either go for the New England Patriots,Philly Eagles or the New York Jets who have Celtic connections :D
I route for New England, purely because it has England in the name. I would have though that that would be enough to stop a Jock supporting them. :)

Land Of The Snakes
Having watched my first ever Super Bowl and really my first whole game of American football I quite enjoyed it.
Me being a hardcore Giants fan Super Bowl XLVI was awesome! and i believe it was the most watched Super Bowl ever.

I also liked hearing about the Scottish kicker Lawrence Tynes

Lawrence Tynes is the man he kicked the winning field goal. against the 49ers to send the Giants to Super Bowl XLVI. why not choose the Giants as your team? :D

It's going to be hard to pick a team since I didn't grow up watching it, therefore I am going to need to watch it for a while to get a team I can really feel passionate about. So reading up online and buying the NFL games will probably help. Perhaps it will take over a season or so, to watch a good number of games, whether it be from highlights or live, to see a team I really like.

This board doesn't have enough 49er fans. Just sayin.

What appeals to you more, BMH? Physical play or finesse?

My friend is a 49er's fan so he said I should choose the seahawks so we could have a rivalry and the two teams would play each other given that both teams are in the NFC West, they also have the loudest fans in the NFL(apparently). He also said the Eagle's have an exciting team and that Peyton Manning is leaving the Colts, so they will have #1 pick in the draft for a QB and will probably take Andrew Luck and he is(apparently) a good prospect

IN the Super Bowl I liked the big hits but at the same time I liked the finesse of some of the plays.

The first time I saw this was just before the Super Bowl on the build up show, that's so cool

As Yogi Berra would say...."I got 2 words for ya....NFL Sunday Ticket". Hope it's available in Europe.

Assuming we are just discussing the NFL, you should be a Browns fan like me. That way your team is eliminated from play-off contention by Oct 1st, so you can just follow the rest of the season for the sport of it and not be emotionally invested.

Is somewhere outhere.
My team are the Washington Redskins.I can remember when I was 10 years old and I had good
night out at the Irn Bru carnival in Glasgow, and came back and stayed at my cousins. That night
I couldn't sleep because my cousin snored the whole night, and he would always listen to the radio
when he was sleeping. So I changed the station and listened to the Redskins give a good hiding to
the Denver Broncos and ever since then I've been a fan.

I also used to own a Washinton Redskins jacket in my casual days, and it brought me a lot of luck
during my fights :D

So here's to you Geronimo and thanks for the memories :glugglug:

Be a Bears fan like me. Chicago is a great sports town and the Bears are a charter franchise, they have a rich and storied history

Just a bit of advice, don't choose the Miami Facepalms as your team. Nothing but heartbreak ahead for you if you do.

BMH... might I suggest you follow the Denver Broncos?
