>>> Listing good photo hosting services and instructing members to use them

Tip: install a spycam in your toilet.
I've been taking note of people using imageshack, photobucket and tinypic and some other non-adult picture hosts while posting to the Identify / Name the Babe section. Those images will be rather transient, since adult content is against the terms of use of all these hosting sites. Even if the picture doesn't actually have adult content, many hosters seem to disallow even linking to adult boards regardless of the image content. Even if the image isn't removed, the hosts check the referrer URL and seeing that it comes from FreeOnes, will just display the "banned" image. That's why copy-pasting the link to a new tab or window might work in these cases (there's no referrer URL bring sent when you open a link in a completely fresh new tab or window by copy-pasting). Hotlinking is disabled in a similar manner, even to thumbnail sized pictures.

Anyway, it's somewhat bothersome to see people attempting to use these hosts regularly and then having problems with them. So, I'm suggesting an amendment to the quick posting rules on the Identify / Name the Babe section listing the good and bad image hosts. Something like this:

"Please note that if you only have a picture to go with the identification request and no link to go with it (and no way to attach it to the thread while still following board rules), you must use an adult image hosting service to first upload the picture and then post the link.

These are the known good hosting sites, use the one that best suits your purposes:

http://www.imagevenue.com
Allowed file types: JPG
File size limit: 3 MB
Max image resolution: apparently not restricted by anything other than the file size
Note from their FAQ: "The storage period of your images on our server is unlimited. However, if your image has not been accessed for more than 1 year, it will be deleted from our server."

http://www.imagebam.com
Allowed file types: GIF, JPG, PNG
File size limit: 4 MB
Max image resolution: apparently not restricted by anything other than the file size

http://www.hotchyx.com
Allowed file types: JPG
File size limit: 2.5 MB
Max image resolution: 4000 x 4000

http://www.pimpandhost.com
Allowed file types: BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG
File size limit: 5 MB
Max image resolution: apparently not restricted by anything other than the file size

http://www.postimage.org
Allowed file types: BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, PSD, TIFF
File size limit: 5 MB
Max image resolution: apparently not restricted by anything other than the file size

http://www.mahometown.com
No login required
Upload upto 50 files per batch
File size limit: 10.24 MB
Allowed file types: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, and .gif
Creates picture gallery automatically
BBCODE and HTML embed codes
Freely resize your image embed codes after upload is done, between (50x50 minimum, 500x500 maximum)

While uploading your pictures to these services, there are options for marking them "ADULT" for imagevenue, imagebam and postimage. Use that option and your links will then work properly and the images will stay on their servers. Hotchyx and pimpandhost seem to automatically assume that the pictures have adult content so there's no need to mark it as such when using their services.

It's worth noting that if you want to use a picture in your signature, these same hosting services should be used for doing that as well.

These are the sites that you DO NOT WANT to use in any circumstances here on FreeOnes:

- imageshack
- photobucket
- tinypic
- imgur
- flickr
-imagehost
-imagepost
-dumparump
-4chan
-pic-upload.de
-nudespuri.com
- any other random image host on the web that doesn't explicitly state that they allow adult content in their terms of service

If your pictures do not work or get deleted, it's probably because you uploaded them to one of these non-adult hosts. Use only the good hosts mentioned above. FreeOnes isn't the one removing your pictures and breaking your links in these cases (unless your link comes up with ****, for that read the sticky thread at the top of the forum section), it's the original image host doing it because porn is against their terms of use.
"

Since I've been using imagevenue myself, I am more familiar with its features than the other hosting sites. Here are some additional details that I posted to another thread:
http://board.freeones.com/showpost.php?p=4629893&postcount=4

Forum members might want to post their experiences and any possible problems they've encountered while using these hosts in this thread as well as additional suggestions for good adult image hosting sites. That would be very welcome.

Unfortunately there's no way to directly input this information to the brains of new members, so it's guaranteed that many will continue to make mistakes with using non-adult hosting sites. However, I would hope that putting this here will decrease the amount of these cases somewhat.

I think I might have been able to adjust the wording to make this clearer to understand, but I'm just going to post this now. If I end up tweaking this too much, I might do that forever (took me long enough to write this as it is). This information is correct to the best of my knowledge.

Though I just know that I'm forgetting something important from this...

I think it would be a good idea to post a link to this thread in the rules thread. I'd do it, but that thread is closed.

I really like Pimp and Host.

And using thumbnails to post pics helps stop threads from getting ridiculously gargantuan in length and very cluttered when you get situations where poster after poster quotes and re-posts the same photos over and over again.

I just saw a new service (new to me at least) being used in an ID request.

http://www.imagehaven.net/
Allowed file types: GIF, JPG, PNG
File size limit: 3 MB
Max image resolution: apparently not restricted by anything other than the file size

The difference to the other services listed is that it allows images to be uploaded as a zip file (maximum 50 MB) and to make a thumbnailed gallery from the uploaded images instead of just a linked slideshow. As with many of the other services listed here, pictures with adult content must be marked as such or they will be deleted.

I've been using it for about a year. ImageVenue is my favorite for random photos, but ImageHaven is much better if you want to upload a bunch of pics and make a gallery. It just looks a lot nicer. Another good one that's like that is *****************. Check it out:

ImageVenue now has the ability to make thumbnailed galleries from the published folders. That's four image hosts now that have the gallery feature:

ImageVenue (with registration)
ImageBam (with registration)
ImageHaven (galleries work without registering? Haven't tested it, don't know enough to be sure. Connor?)
ImageEarn (galleries work without registering)

You don't have to register. One of the galleries I created on there was done in July of last year, and all the pics are still there.

Another host that is gaining popularity is Pimp & Host. I haven't used it much, but it seems like a good choice.

I've gotten to where I don't like ImageBam. The pop-ups are annoying and the site has become very slow.

tinypic i really like / i think adult photos are against rules though ?

As I already wrote when I started this thread, tinypic is indeed in the "DO NOT WANT" list and it's there for exactly that reason.

Bayimg is uncensored, and almost crap-free:

http://bayimg.com/

I am somewhat confused about bayimg. Their main page reads:

"BTW - If you tag your content, we would like you to know that we did not build this site for any kind of porn. There are so many places on the net that host porn and we're on another mission here than hosting your fap material."

So, they're uncensored but don't want porn to be hosted in mass amounts? Nevertheless, it seems that they wouldn't be too reliable for our puropses here. They might just start removing porn when their tolerance for it is exceeded. That will probably happen very quickly, since people don't read anything when they find a free image hosting site. They'll just start pushing their pictures there.

Ok! I read you post carefully.

I use a camera cellphone and I want to send naked pictures from my cellphone to the website without using a wire or something (like tinypic.com/twitpic.com/twitgoo.com, however those websites wanted to be "family friendly.")

So which ones in the blue does the samething and allows to post naked pictures from your cellphone?

Uploading directly from the phone? Heh. Can't say I thought of that when I started the thread. I use a desktop PC very heavily and don't use mobile for internet connectivity at all really. Might be a tough nut to crack.. Been searching for it now, but it doesn't look like there are any adult image hosts (yet) that would have that feature. Somebody should send feature requests to them.

(See, I knew I forgot something important!)

Well well, found one:

http://www.imgxc.com/
Mobile uploads: http://www.m.imgxc.com/
Allowed file types: JPG, GIF, PNG
Supports zip uploads: yes
File size limit: 2 MB
Max image resolution: apparently not restricted by anything other than the file size
Note from their FAQ: "Images are only ever removed if they're illegal, or if they have not been viewed for more than 12 months."

Didn't find the maximum allowed size for a zip file.

More on imgxc: they have an option to upload pictures by e-mail as well, in case the mobile upload form doesn't work.
http://www.imgxc.com/mobile.php#tabs-2

Always remember to click the "Adult" checkbox when uploading normally or put "adult", "NSFW" or "private" as one of the e-mail subject keywords when uploading by e-mail. Otherwise your pictures will be deleted after some time.

Yes Automate, you're right about Bayimg. I hadn't seen that text about them not wanting porn. I wonder how long it's been there.
Either way "uncensored, but no porn please" really doesn't make any sense.

I also tried one of my earlier Bayimg posts today, and it came up as "Forbidden". You can still copy and paste to see the picture, but why bother?

I'm sticking to Imagevenue or Imagebam from now on. They have that annoying pop up, but once you get past that, they're all right.
