TV What anime are you currently watching?

Lots of choice out there, from Netflix specials to anything on crunchyroll.

Here's a low-key one I just stated. It's centered around the work-life of a taxi driver, but there's a larger overarching (darker) story.

I don't dig Anima. I love animation. Rick & Morty, Family Guy, etc. But for some reason I can never get into the true Japanese format, if that's a reasonable way to describe it. I think you just haven't found the right anime for you. I've never been a fan of tent porn, and I've grown out of the typical Saturday morning stuff. But you have classics like Studio Ghibli, Sci-fi masterpieces like Gundam, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Yamato, etc, comedies, slice of life and everything in between.

Odd taxi has some Film Noir aspects, and definitely for a more mature audience. But without having to resort to sex or gratuitous violence. And the juxtaposition of anthropomorphic characters in a serious story like this make it all the more interesting.

Maybe you can let us know what types of movies you like, and we can think of some recommendations?

I rarely watch movies, but when I do, it's usually Mafia, war, or something funny, although those are becoming increasingly harder to come by. I have heard of Cowboy Be Bop, it was on Adult Swim, along with Dragon Ball, and something Academia. I just didn't seem to think they looked interesting. I will say this, I would fuck the daylights out of ChiChi. In fact, I have a decent collection of her naked.

Let's start with war. Many of my Favourite anime fits in that.
Do you like medieval? Samurai/ninjas? WWII? Modern Warfare? Or futuristic war?

One that straddles WWII/Modern is Girls und Panzer. It's been going on for quite a while now, and they're capping it off with a 6-part movie series, with 1 movie each year
The premise is that tank warfare is a girls highschool sport. Ok, the story might not be realistic, but the tank battles are legit

The tank models are based of actual tanks from the British & US tank museums which are actually listed as sponsors in the production. Some of the moves they pull off might seem fantastical, but they are based in reality.

Here's the Russian team singing their school song.

And one of the best scenes involving the BT-42. I didn't know tanks could jump, but that scene is based on actual BT-42 footage, as is the ability to change the controls into a steering wheel.

Just finished ODD TAXI and it is amazing!
It's one of these stories that when you re-watch it, you see so many details You Missed, or didn't see the significance until later in the story. And the big twist in the final episode really put it all together.

And while they gave a happy ending for most of the threads, in literally the last minute they leave you hanging with one last, and major cliffhanger.
There is a movie coming out on April 1st, so that last part likely has something to do with it.

I would strongly recommend checking it out!
