What is the latest good TV series you have watched?

There are some great TV programs amongst all the dross out there at the moment.

One I just came across and would encourage people to watch is "Orange is the New Black", which is a Netflix original series. Written by Jenji Kohan who also wrote "Weeds".

Survivor, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Prison Break, Stargate SG-1. Think those are latest good/watchable ones I've been watching pretty much from newest/ongoing to oldest/finished series, but I haven't been watching too many different TV series since many years. Could add maybe some other series too, but they aren't that "new" and couple random series which have been cancelled pretty much the moment when they actually started to get more interesting.

I was recently exposed to a series called "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret." It was sold to me on the premise of having my two favourites from Arrested Development, Will Arnett and David Cross in it. Dumped in London with the unexpected bonuses of Sharon Horgan as the latter's love interest, "Neil from the Inbetweeners" as his lackey and the occasional cameo from Amber Tamblyn didn't hurt either. Plus, it's really funny.

Stargate SG-1.

Except for those last few seasons. It was going downhill before RDA left, but it really fell off the cliff once he did go, and I quit watching before it got to the non-ending. And because of what happened to it (which has also ruined the rewatch value of the earlier eps, as I know where it all leads), I have become much more wary of the other shows I used to like, like Burn Notice and Leverage, that I bailed on, to retain the rewatch value of their earlier eps.

Now that I've said my piece about that, while it is aimed more at kids, I've always liked the Transformers series from the orig, to Beast Wars, to what ended not long ago, Transformers: Prime, whose ending was good, if only a bit short seeming at only 30 minutes, when I think and hour would've done more justice.

I need to watch Breaking Bad - I haven't heard a bad word about it yet.
I am also told that Homeland is well worthwhile watching but have not got around to that one yet, either.
Walking Dead died a death after season 2. I just got bored of it.
The Newsroom is Outstanding.

Probably the best British drama series in recent years is Luther, starring Idris Elba. I highly recommend this one.

I agree, it's a great show. Another great Netflix original is Lilly Hammer, I can't wait for season 2. As far as typical cable goes, I'm still digging Sons Of Anarchy, and was pretty enthused by the season premier, and for Gods sakes, the last four episodes of Breaking Bad....I'm really trying hard to come up with a viable outcome, to make a plausible wager with my wife.

I tried to watch "house of Cards", with Keven Spacey...because I really like his acting, but I just could not get into it. I'm also looking forward to the new season of NCIS.
