A powder keg has been seething in America for some time. It's explosive is composed of resentment, self-centeredness, and good old-fashioned hatred. It's a sociopolitical blood-letting that holds color and class hostage, and yearns for the old days. It lies between the marrow of the 1950s, and the kitchens of rural America. It exists at the butt of a gun, in the backpacks of White suburban soccer moms, and at the heads of company offices. The spark that ignited this is heard in the heart and said in the minds, whenever a peaceful racial equality protest occurs, or a Black athlete signs a million-dollar sports deal. It takes strands of the Constitution and layers them with coats of crime statistics. It values style over substance...fabric over fact. It's the voice echoing in a Tea Party tunnel, denying its own words. It's a sentiment without feeling...one that Trump is well aware of and has exploited all along. And it has run amok.
